Is Rulang that good a school ....?

If it's NYPS I can understand as it is very coveted but Rulang?

Rulang is a good school that takes care of the holistic development of her students. Just a couple of example, the P1s are given the chance to join extra classes for Calligraphy, Pottery and they just came back from a Vegetable and Frog Farm trip. P1s are also given to join CCA of their choice and they have 2 hours of PALs every Friday. The school organized a career talk for their P6 students last year!

Rulang is the up-and-coming neighbourhood school as it is able to maintain its standard as well for PSLE. Yes, the stress is there but I know of a few upper primary kids there and they enjoy Rulang very much.

Just last year, 42 of her students scored 4A*. So it must be doing something right...

And if you are those who looks at awards:

\"Rulang Primary School became the first neighbourhood school to be awarded the Singapore Quality Class award in 2003.[2] Other awards include the People Developer Award, the School Distinction award, and the pinnacle award for educational excellence under the MOE Masterplan of Awards, the School Excellence Award (SEA).[3]\"

      :celebrate:

Too bad, mine can't get in.

Broke past year record, balloting within 1km. Tink they will reduce the intake of the PV maybe to 15 and those must be within 1km.

Sorry GSK. I didn't mean to rub it in but felt that the i had to address that question.. i'm kinda protective when it comes to RPS

Yup really unexpected this year. I wonder how the current batch of PVs will sway.. the reduction is fair and I believe the person-in-charge is in for a very tough decision.

Actually, I also suspect that some of those staying within 1km would love to still be selected even at a risk of ballot since the probability is still higher than that at Phase 2C and again one extra chance...

It is a tough call... 😓

            Hi all...

will be going P2C for Shuqun, beyond 2km..... i know the chances are slim.. 😞 but will monitor & try my luck... :xedfingers:

            lakeside Pri (1-2km - its near but I don like 😉 )
Jurong Pri and Frontier (beyond 2km)

which one would you think would a better choice for my plan b?
            Pls advise....

            TIA 😄
            GSK:
            Hi Zsmummy
No chance for phase 2C if you are going for balloting in Shuqun and Jurong Pri if yours beyond 2km, last few years they balloted within 1km. U may monitor but doubt any places left beyond 1km. I believe Frontier and lakeside will still have vacancy if you are in phase 2C.
Good luck and all the best.
I agree with GSK. Have you seen this?

Sorry to burst your bubble but I think you chance for Shuqun at >2km is not just slim but actually zero. Jurong Primary also doesn't look promising at all..

IMHO, you need to concentrate on a feasible Plan A.

Hi, you must have your reasons for Lakeside, so what about schools <1km from your home?

Corporation Primary has some wonderful support here and there were also some earlier sharings on Xingnan last year..

                Good Luck! :xedfingers:

Rulang's rope skipping team is also very good. Forgot to mention it last time when I mentioned that Rulang's niche is robotics. I think they just sent a team to Korea this week's Wed for a rope skipping competition. They also attend friendlies in Australia each year, sending the P2s, I think. Correct, RRMummy?

Everyone will be protective over the school their kids go to, especially if the teachers and the programmes have really benefitted the kids. I would do the same for CPS. 🙂

                      Hi,

I will be registering under P2C for Shuqun Pri (within 1-2km, in fact where we live is very near to the 1km radius from Shuqun). Looking at the vacancy, which is 91 places left, will there be any slightest chance of getting a place? Confirm the school will go into balloting for those within 1km but I just want to assure myself that the risk i’m taking is a sane risk.

If not my Plan B will be sending him to Lakeside Pri ( within 1km ).

                      Help! 😮

As of last year record, Shuqun has balloting available in Phase 2C for those staying less than 1km only..so perhaps you like to monitor situation before you go for the registration this year?
