Hi yap_susan,
then they must have known each otherchloecube:
Hi chloecube,
Yes my son attends the science enrichment. I will ask him later when he gets back.
He takes school bus. I seldom appear at school.
So you intend to apply for tnps? No more trying for gs.
CZ is a hottie at my side, so decided not to try for it.
i just called TN to check the timing of P1 next yr, but they have yet to finalise it yet.
i have an issue here, DS is in morning session, school in NA. if i enroll DD in TN which is also in the morning session. my maid will have problem fetching both back in different school.
my maid needs 1hr to travel from tampines to NA, by the time she comes back to tampines, she may miss the timing to fetch my DD.
:faint: timing is my biggest concern..
as for GS, i understand the P1 is in the afternoon, i also need to check on the timing. let's say DD manage to get a place in GS, my maid must ahve enough time to bring her to school and then travel to NA to fetch DS back...heachache..
i was telling my DH abt this, he said to save the trouble, just put both in same school which is NA.
if DD goes to NA, then we have another 6 yrs of travelling up and down from tampines to Marine Parade..
my 2nd SIL's 2 son are in CZ..but i am not trying for CZ cos need balloting too rite?
I have similar problem like you. Can share why you are not getting school bus instead of getting your maid to fetch?
Thanks
hi dankhim,
i suppose ur question is for me.
DS used to take school bus since P1 - P3 till June 2011
there are a few reasons why i terminated the bus service:
1) take too long to reach home, i stay in tampines and NA is in marine parade. DS is the 2nd (sometime last) last to get off. journey takes ard 1.5hr.
2) i only sign up for the return-trip, which cost me $124 per month.
June and Dec holiday are inclusive. i did a calculation, with my maid fetching him home, i actually save on $ and time.
3) since P3, i find that he has to stay back after school more often (3x per week), so meaning he will have to take after-school bus back which is fix either at 3pm or 5pm.i have to pay additional $5 per trip. DS's lesson ends either at 3.45pm or 4.15pm. so he can only take the 5pm bus, meaning he has to stay in school for more than 1hr to take the school bus home. i find it is too tiring for him and also i am worried for his safety since most of his frds would have gone home.
if DD goes to the same school next yr, maid can fetch them back at the same time. on days taht DS has to stay back, he would have to take public bus back on his own. that is why i am training him to do that now. but he is still doesnt have the courage to do it on his own yet. -

thks for the link.
if TN is in the morning session, then i have to give up on that school. i dun think maid is able to fetch both kids at the same time in 2 diff school.unless DS learn to take bus home himself.
until now, he still very scare... :scared: -

Are you going back to original plan? GS?jeslow:

too many things to consider.
i have just spoken to my kids' tuition teacher (a current Primary school teacher) for advise.
her suggestion is to put both kids in the same school. will be easier for us to send and fetch them.
heard in 2013, all primary school will be single session, by then, DD is only P2, i will have problem in fetching if both are in 2 different schol.
most likely i will stay put in NA.. -
