The poisoning accident is in the ST papers under Home Section. ard 85 students but they were vigilant to keep it within control

The only thing I'm afraid is that there seems to have a spike in birth rate in 2008, so afraid there's balloting under P2B when it's our turn to register DD1. Anyone has any view on this, appreciate it.

Me not from Methodist denomination, so had to work hard I guess you don't have anything to lose than, at P2B. Unless you have other choices at earlier phases? If so, what you can do is the 2-parents-station-both-schools method lor, to decide at the last hours which school, based on the chances then.

We are >2km away from plmgs. So I suppose if my DD1 is unsuccessful in P2B, am I right to say that I don't even need to try for P2C at plmgs but should just put her in a neighbourhood sch near my place at P2C?

Well, that seems to be the case now. But 3 years’ time things can be different? I guess, look around and find out more for a backup school. I had a P2C plan and even P2CS plan… I just prayed and trust God knows what He’s doing haha… and I didn’t hold on too tightly that it has to be this school la, guess that way the P1 registration process won’t be so overwhelming.

Experienced PLMGPS mummies,

Wish to seek your advice. What is a good size for a backpack for say P1-3? Hope I’m not TOO kiasu to start looking for a backpack for my girl going P1 next year, hehe… I’m a bit confused looking at school backpacks, e.g. the ergo bags like Impact, SPI, etc look huge and heavy to me, are they necessary?.. Is a bag of 15 inches (or 38cm) tall too big? (my gal is 114cm tall now, half year to go before P1). Pls recommend a good size based on your understanding of the load they need to carry for at least P1 and 2. Thanks heapssss.

why does PLMGS has a different school uniform from MGS?

Look at all the IJs? They have the same uniform and better still, look at the branding the school commands; super strong.

I know that the Hokkien Hui Khuan schools share their exam papers, can affiliated schools do the same? Wonder if the IJ schools to this?

MGS is founded by Miss Sophia Blackmore and supported by the Women’s Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church in America, Miss Blackmore, an Australian missionary.

PLMGS was started as a branch of the Anglo-Chinese School and wasknown then as Paya Lebar English School.Mrs Chew Hock Hin(wife of Rev Chew Hock Hin, lady seated in family potrait) became the Principal of the school. She remained in that capacity until she retired in 1957. She is regarded as the founder of the Paya Lebar MGS because she re-organised the school with the help of the American Crusade Fund.

As for IJ,, they share the same heritage. CHIJ (Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus ) is a group of 11 IJ schools in Singapore.

I see.. no wonder... i had a colleague who was a Malaysian and she was from a Methodist school. She said she had to not just pull strings but \"cables\" just so that her child can go to MGS.
