Just came back from TNS phase 2b ballot and didn't get in. I feel so devastated.
There's phase 2C next week so all is not lost. Persevere on, you've already come so far. And best of luck to you! -
Dear Augtsh,
Thank you for the words of encouragement. My problem is, if I failed 2c again, I will be left with 2c Supplement schools, which may be very far away from home. I don’t know if I should try Ngee Ann for phase 2c… dilemma, dilemma.
I felt very disappointed because we moved to within 1km and volunteered but now everything seems so uncertain… -
Thank you for the advice. We shall do that…

You may like to seriously consider Ngee Ann if you are within 1 km from the school.Dear Augtsh,

The pool of applicants for TNS in P2C will be bigger than P2B. So, unless you feel you will be lucky the second time, it may not be a good idea to stick to TNS.
JMHO. -

oh dear !
I would suggest that you start evaluating what are your possible P2C(supplementary) schools. If the schools are acceptable backup choices for you and your spouse, then go for TNS in P2C &
:xedfingers:
but if there is none, then you might want to play it safe with Ngee Ann.

Dear Tankee, thank you for the advice. It sounds sensible to me. I think will go for Ngee Ann.
BTW, do you know if it is still possible to transfer to Tao Nan later on? -
I think you can try put your name on the waitlist for TNS after registering another school at phase 2C.

I can appreciate the dilemma you're in. But if you've moved within 1km just for TNS, which in my humble opinion is a huge investment and sacrifice, then you need to really reflect on the ROI you're getting out of this P1 reg exercise. Having volunteered, it has also accorded you a second shot in phase 2C if you're willing to take the chance. You've already invested money, time and efforts for TNS so do you really want to bug out now or stay the course? This is something which you need to decide and come to terms with. And I certainly agree with the many good folks here who have cautioned about the comparatively higher risk of phase 2C, which leaves little options for phase 2C supplement if unsuccessful. It is a case of high risk, high return for TNS, or you can drop the notion and settle for the security of a slot in Ngee Ann Primary, which is not a bad school. At the end of the day, you must know that your efforts are not wasted, and live with the decisions you make knowing that you've done your best for your children. Whichever your choice is, I wish you and all the parents applying in phase 2C the very best of luck. God bless.Dear Augtsh,

Dear Augtsh,
Sorry I don’t know your real name so have to use your userid to address you. You have been very kind. Thank you for your analyses and yes, ultimately I want to do my best for the interest of my children. I guess this is a valuable lesson for them as well: you don’t always get what you want in life but life still goes on and it is not so bad afterall since you get to see kindness, even in a new found friend…
Thanks again and have a great weekend.=) -
