[Bukit Merah] Primary Schools

Looks like CHIJ Kellock is not a very school as it’s in tier 4 … GESPS is tier 3 …
Most suprising of all is Radin Mas in Tier 1 … Whereas some super hot schools like acs and pei Hwa in tier 2 … -
I have found that visiting the schools during their open house could give you a better sense of the environment instead of relying ranking alone. It would be even better if you bring your kid along and ask them for their ‘feel’ of each school. I went to the open house organized by GESPD, ZDPS and CHIJ Kellock, and we have made up our mind where to send the resident rascal for P1.

This is very true. Unfortunately, not every school organises open house. -
Agree with you, I went to CHIJ (Kellock) & the atmosphere is very different compare with Radin Mas!

You are a good neighbour.
Looking at the vacancies left (79), and the number of applicants staying within 1 km who applied with RMPS historically, seems like there is a need to ballot. -

Hi guqin,
Can you elaborate about your feel for ZDPS and Chij? I missed the open house for chij last sat. :thankyou: -

I feel that we shouldn't gauge a school whether it is good or no good by just looking at the grading from a source which I don't even know if its credible in the first place. We should look at the school curriculum, pass PSLE performance, visit the school pysically to have a feel as well as speak to parents with children in that school to determine if the school is suitable for our child. In my opinion, I think CHIJ Kellock is in no way inferior to GESPS. Oh well, this is just my two cents worth.Looks like CHIJ Kellock is not a very school as it's in tier 4 ... GESPS is tier 3 ...

I always hear that RMPS is a good school, one of the top schools in the area. But I wonder how did they perform academically in the past (I think they produced 1 or 2 top students in the last 10 years) because I can’t seem to find this info on their website. Its unlike schools like Henry Park and MGS which they have a track record of producing high percentage quality passes in all subjects. I can’t tell for RMPS but I keep hearing that they are good. I must miss some info on that. Hope someone can fill me in.
