Hehee.. ..My DH stayed abroad in his younger days and got tough-up then too..
We try not to be in the kitchen at the same time. No space for 2 big parents :rotflmao:SAHM_TAN:
SAHM_TAN.. How nice to have daddy and mummy preparing a meal together!
envy leh.. ....
Last time courting time, he will still cook prawn noodles for me, from scatch, liang teh, now he tells me no time. But will still cook for family
He was forced to learn to cook and care for himself when young, school of hard knocks.
You gals are fortunate! DH lived abroad too, but he only knows how to fry rice and cook bacon and eggs...the last time he cooked for us was more than 3 years ago! And he still reminds me about it (it was a bacon and egg sandwich).

Kabby,
DH and I also go for concerts! We find it much more fun than a movie. Had to take a break coz of baby, until the recent Kylie Minogue concert. Normally we would have a nice dinner followed by the concert, then take supper. For Kylie, we left home as late as possible, after topping baby up, and rushed home as soon as the concert was over. My mum had to feed baby with a syringe!
Wah…a bit stressful, but it was great fun! Felt young again! -

terry, i agree with you on all the rest that SAHM nowadays are not frog in the well. we've been out there, we're educated, now we're making this choice to stay at home for the family.
our hubbies are supportive and they're angels for that.
but then i think the fact still remains that, age is kinder to men than to women.
i look around me, it seems women all age faster than men.
not just that, old men still have appeal to very young women, but old women just don't attract young men. so it is unfair in that sense, i think tht's part of what cwc was saying.
therefore, i think, even as SAHM, we must still try and maintain. it is difficult, like me, no time for facial, even though i make effort by buying the pore pack, but still forget to use... lol.
but when i go out, i don't wear my home clothes, i change and try to look good. i don't want to go out and be mistaken for my dd's maid, or my dh's domestic help. (my stylo glasses help, kekeke)
on special occasions, i put on my contact lenses, take time to put on make-up, wear pretty pretty, and go out with Dh. it's really troublesome u know, for me. cos i'd have to put aside some chore, like maybe folding clothes or something, in order to make time for this... but it does make a difference i think.
men are visual creatures... when i do this, i can tell it reminds him that his wife is still so beautiful
... hopefully his eyes don't stray elsewhere then.
:hi5: spot on
Indeed, age is kinder on man and it gets even more obvious if you are of same age. Unless you are the blessed minority who can still maintain or perhaps willing and have the means to do more eg. botox, surgery etc, age will leave its traces everywhere.
But again, visually there is only so much we can do....then it's really the communication / intellectual part we need to make sure we can still connect to each other. -

But seriously, some of the mums at DS1's school are so well put together. Clearly, they have the means to prettify themselves. As for me...I think I sometimes dress worse than the foreign domestic workers who are waiting for their charges...recently I bought some tinted moisturizer which I use when I go pick DS up. So at least I have a hint of glowing skin (or so I hope)... -

Not just that, men and women are attracted to different attributes - men to looks (and youth) and women to financial stability. Not all are like that but all it takes is that one or two for your marraige to end in tears :gloomy:
I have faith in DH and our marriage but it doesn't hurt to ask myself (once in awhile) how I can cope in the worst-case scenario. It's always good to have a plan, just in case, though one hopes one never has to use it (bit like insurance
).

I realised that too when fetching my kids & am trying to dress up a little too (or at least, not old tshirts, shorts & slippers)
I'm still trying to figure that one out! LOL!

Noticed one interesting thing at dd school too, there are many China mommies who not only come pretty & dressed, many drive to fetch their kids too ........ -

i've a Chinese friend (as in from China, who's really beautiful), and when I complimented her how pretty she always looks, she says every female can be like that. “世上没有丑女人,只有懒女人。”
translated \"no such thing as an ugly woman, there are only lazy women\".
i guess i am lazy then. hahaaha.
