Saw your post about using P&J readers. I also have them, for lower levels with few words, can try 3-5 pages each day, for higher levels (think from level 6 onwards), try 1 page a day. Like that it will take about 1 year to finish level 1-12.

yes yes,, just got the books not long ago.. DD complete 1a.. still not very good at all the new words, some she knows from school some she guess.. so i repeat with her. she manage to read the whole book on her own yest. today we will start with new book, i thk i start 2a ? u thk? or 1b ?

I think can go through 1b quite quickly if you have the book…else wasted mah. To me, no hurry, one year to finish is ok, leave some time to read other books…although tmy gals are through with it, but for other books, they still like those books with not too many words….lazy…[/quote]
Ya. Carry on with 1b. My opinion, no need to get c. My girl also reading P&J series now. 🙂

My twin gals went for class outing…they are in the same class but different groups…my younger one was selected to be the group leader and she is quite proud of it. When she mention it to us, I can tell that her Jie Jie doesn’t feel too good about it…at home, she is the more domineering one, always me first and Mei Mei is usually the more Qing cai one…should we downplay the whole thing by not sounding too excited when my younger one mentions it or take the chance to educate Jie Jie? How to handle such cases , experienced mummies?

I think to be fair to your DD2, should share her excitment and show how happy you are for her. At the same time with DD1, explain to her that she has been the one leading at home and it's good that mei mei has a chance. Also maybe you can check her teacher whether DD1 will have a chance to lead as well. So that DD1 will have a chance to share with you her achievement too. JMHO 😄

I too feel that should share with her the excitement… since she is so proud of it…

Just tell the elder girl… she might be selected as well… in the next outing…

The \"c\" series books contain exercises for the child to revise and practice writing the words. I got 2 books from the \"c\" series (1c & 2c) when i first started to buy this P&J series but at that time my girl still could not write well. So i did not let her do the \"c\" series. Its still untouched. 🙂

                    My opinion :
You should share mei mei's excitement and give her encouragement. And at the same time, talk to the jie jie. The kids should also learn how to accept disappointment since there are bound to be up and down in life. Tell her she may be selected the next time. Everyone will get a chance.
