But my girl answer is 1.

Your girl is correct.
The yolk provides the developing embryo with nutrients. -

An ice cube is left to melt on a metal tray .
Which of the following statement(s) is/are correct when the ice cube is melting?
A The temperature of the metal tray decreases.
B The liquid is losing heat to the surrounding air.
c The temperature of the ice cube rises above 0 degree cel.
My girl answer is 4 but the answer is 4
I try to think along water is a bad conductor of heat, but not sure that is the right way to explain…can someone advice and is there any book can enlighten the concept?Anyone use the smart series math?
I find that reading and grasping the concept well is impt to do such question, not sure am right.thanks

option (1) is a logical answer.
The ice cube gained heat from the metal tray and surrounding air in order to melt.
The surrounding air is generally higher than the water which has just melted from the ice(0 degrees).
The temperature of the ice remains at 0 degree until all the ice has changed into water.
Please refer to Water and its changes of State in P4 textbook.In this instance, it does not show that water is a poor conductor of heat.

When a piece of ice is taken from the freezer and place in a warmer place, it begins to take in heat from the surroundings. At 0 degrees Celsius, ice melts to water (from solid to liquid).During this process, the ice continues to gain heat as it melts to become water. However, the temperature of the water remains constant at 0 degrees Celsius until all the ice has melted.Over a period of time, the water will gain heat from the surrounding as its temperature increases to room temperature.
Hence,it's incorrect to say that The liquid is losing heat to the surrounding air.
