should suggest MOE to give out data about the distances of all the applicants from their registered school  if that is true, those ppl not registered will definitely know what school to choose liao šŸ˜„

      Great idea!! :rahrah:

Sure would reduce much pressure from parents and the poor staff who is answering the phone calls.. šŸ†’

even the new school frontier primary has 5 in P2B so all of them should be GRL

Even if you know the number of PV, you will probably not know the number of grassroot volunteers competing under same phase as PV. Still :stupid:

Totally agree. At the school I PV in, normally only 7-8 GRL will appear every year. That was the stats for the past few years. This year, suddenly got 13 GRLs! Plus the reduction in intake means have to ballot also. :stupid:

if Frontier parents can unite together in soul and spirit, form a powerful force in unity and forceful strength, write a letter to appeal to MOE to replicate the best teaching practises from Rulang, the best teaching methodology, the best teaching curriculum from Rulang, take whatever 'goodies' from Rulang, get HODs from Rulang to handhold new teachers in Frontier for a period of time, ie. dun waste time re-invent the wheel all over again ... then i believe one day, Frontier has a great potential to become Rulang (II) campus.

then if can't get into Rulang, never mind ... still got Frontier.

            could it be single-session?

            raisintan:
            Hi,

Yah, I was really impressed with Frontier's enrolment rate! Can't be the school staff sotong, keyed in 227 applicants instead of vacancies right?

What's the selling point of this school? Did MOE send a solid team of teaching staff there to kickstart the school?

              LKVM:
              RRMummy:

seems that this new school is getting lots more support than the existing ones :scratchhead:

Yes, that is possible and some do it for various reasons.

It may be due to the fact that they have no chance to ballot since staying >2km or they see another school with relatively no/less risk of balloting etc etc...

Some even withdraw from their registration which was done in earlier phases..

I mean to ask whether technically it is allowed to do so. But what if ppl all wait till last min? then the statistics might not be reliable

                    It is allowed.

All the last minute still need to take into consideration the logistics and time required to withdraw from previous school and subsequently register in the new school.

Statistics provided by MOE is updated past the closing time of that day so it would be accurate as of closing time. So sometimes it may appear that if you track back, there may be some change in the # for previous Phases or between the different days in the same Phase.

Most huge changes normally occur if the responsible school calls up to parents to deregister and try else where since they confirm no chance in balloting and would end up wasting their Phase 2C chance.

Do you already have your plan B and C?[/quote]FPS was supposed to be my Plan B but based on the number of applicants there might be no available slots for Phase 2C supplementary even for < 1 km. Then the new plan B is Corporation and Plan C is Pioneer. or What if I withdraw application from West Grove and go instead to FPS since both of them are < 1 km from my home and just hope that there will be less applicants for < 1 km and only balloting for applicants > 1 km? :nailbite:

Yes, it looks like FPS is not an option for Phase 2Csupp.

It is a sound idea. Why not call up FPS to see how many are within 1km? It would be possible that you might escape without having to ballot. šŸ™ :xedfingers: šŸ™ :xedfingers:
