      kabalevsky:
Me thinks should avoid the ballot and go for CPS. Dh feels since CPS has space, we should just try FPS first, if fail then go CPS at Phase 2CS.

I am worried cannot get into both! DH says must be risk taker.

We'll see tonight's figures then discuss again. These few nights many rounds of discussion!
I would have thought just like you.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Your DH super supportive of new environment and definitely a risk taker ๐Ÿ˜‰
      kabalevsky:
Never thought will be faced with such problems cos always thought new schools not so popular.

Is this creating history in Singapore?? New school, not even completed its buildings, and already balloting within 1km!!?!?!
      Yalor..

I have my speculations.. but maybe I should just keep it to myself.. ๐Ÿ˜“

I remember 2005 kids are the first batch to get baby bonus. Not too sure if this has contributed to the situation. There is another new school building at Jurong West Street 71, just opposite WG. Hope the new school will accept enrollments in 2 years.

I have registered jurong under 2a2 but I am within 1 km of west grove and 1-2 km of frontier. Thinking if I have a chance, I will change to a school nearer my home but now I think I will stay put with jurong.

            :snuggles:

              tankee:

does anyone know why is this new school Frontier so popular?

              :?

So far, I have heard three reasons:

              1) Single session
              2) Hand picked teachers, Principal quite good
              3) Rather go to an untested school then to go to a tested average school - this is a good one ๐Ÿ™‚

              Another reason?

That area is densely populated with HDBs.. lots of young families + ... If parents there take proximity as the main criteria then it makes this school super hot.. garment must have seen it coming what with another school coming soon too...

couldn't imagine if Frontier was not an option this year :faint:

I really ่ฎคๅ‘ฝ now. I suffer double disappointment at phase 2b when I do not even get a chance to ballot at the 2 schools I have volunteered in. ็œŸๆ˜ฏไบบ็ฎ—ไธๅฆ‚ๅคฉ็ฎ—! I note that there are 2 withdrawals between 2b and 2c at Rulang. Let's hope more people withdraw after phase 2c ends.

Then how to make/change decision based on up to date stats? I saw one previous thread saying hb and wife stayed in two diff schools and kept each other updated ... Will the school post the latest info such as no. of registration ?

Yes either that or you can base your decision by calling up the school...

Some schools have boards indicating number of applicants based on the distance breakdown.

Err.. but in our Birth rate thread this is what I found posted in 2008
                        (http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=395)

                        Life births in
                        2003 : 37,485
                        2004 : 37,174
                        2005 : 37,492

The increase was not that significant (318).. unless all the increase are located in JURONG!! :lightrod:
