        Maisu, i didnt feedback as i know they need to be prepared well for psle and so need to do a lot of work but i thought they should do this from beg of year or fr lower primary and not last minute now. fr day 1, it has been very relaxed with hardly any hw. no suppl class except for p5 math for a short period .

        My dd finds Math teacher’s method of solving math sums to be not very gd and she prefers to use her own method she learnt fr LL. understand that some of her classmates cld not understnd her teach’g too.

              [quote=\"phtthp\"]hi moonee,

              sounds interesting!

              a) when you think is good age to start - P2 going P3, or earlier say, end of P1 ?

              b) how useful & relevant do you find the Science practical experiments taught - for example: topics on Life science \"Plant & Human Body System\" ?

              c) after working on those Science experiments, does it help a child in Processing thinking skills better ?

              d) do they teach mind mapping, besides experiments ?

              its good to start early for science, if ur child does hv the time in P1 , its good to introduce them to science early, U can sign her for their holiday classes, its quite fun. I didnt send my girl for science classes b4 P3 as her work load in p1 n 2 was heavy. In p3, she attended a centre that had limited experiments, she found it boring and felt tat explanation was not enuff.

              Yes with more experiments she found it easier to understand the topics taught, visual and hands on made it easier to comprehend and a much better undestanding too. She do look forward to their classes every wk.

              No, smartscience dont use mind mapping, I sent my girl to Tony Buzan for a year for that. 😄

                      It really depends on the teachers you get. Some teachers are very committed & dedicated. Thank God for those who are hard-work'g & try their best to help the kids! I hv emailed the sch to compliment those who are dedicated. Sad to say that her Learn'g lab Math teacher tis year seems to be more dedicated and concerned than her sch Math teacher ie she keeps me posted via sms and called me b4. I've just trf her to ano time slot for her Learning Lab Sci and was surprised to recv an sms fr her new Sci teacher yest to find out more abt DD and how she is faring in school. For Learn'g Lab, it also depends on the teachers you get too. Not all teachers do this 😉

                        Moonee- heard that some parents hv feedback on this so I believe the sch will look into this when they allocate the teachers for the various sbjs for the coming year. I feel that we must talk and bond with our dds regularly so that we know what is happen'g in sch eg how is sch today, what did ur math ( or other sbj) teacher do with you today? how do you find her teaching etc ?
