Hi, it's been a year. Just to say all the best to those going for ballot. Experienced two balloting last year, one at Phase 2B and one at Phase 2C. Adrenalin rush, disappointment, resignation, anxiety, elation, relieve....emotional roller coaster for weeks, and not forgeting the scheming, strategizing, planning, opportunity optimizing, probability calculating etc etc. That's the baptism of fire for parents of students in Singapore and forms a kind \"bonding\" and camaraderie like what we have here in Kiasu Parents. :grphug:

Lol... I never took BPPS into consideration as popular cos that is a well-known and established fact.momocha:
seems like Beacon is more popular this year than GPS.
Beacon surely gaining more popularity than last year. But comparing to GPS, I think GPS is still more popular than Beacon.
But the top rank is still BPPS. :rahrah:
Another thing I want to mention is last yr Beacon balloted for 1-2km and this year <1km. -

It's been a year for me too. Went through balloting at 2C and did not get in.
You must be really brave to go through 2 ballotings. Where is your child studying now?
But I'm very heartened to see my boy eager to learn and loves school now. So I figured, no matter where he is, I will do my best for him to create a good learning environment. And most importantly, be involved in everything he does and be in regular contact with his teachers to find out how he is doing.
All the best for your 2012 P1 parents. The journey has only just begun.

But comparing the popularity of the 3 schools this year (according to the numbers of applicants (popularity) this year):
1. BPPS
Total applicants 327 from 270 seats = 121%.
2. GPS
Total applicants 302 from 270 seats = 112%.
3. Beacon
Total applicants 269 from 240 seats = 112%.
So Beacon & GPS are on the same rank.

Perhaps there is a rounding error in percentage for GPS, should be 112% as well. Was just thinking mathematically both are oversubscribed by the same 25% in Phase 2C, so the overall total should also be quite similar too, isn't it?You're right. That's why I said Beacon this year is more popular than last year.

So I was just saying the stats...

Ahhh... If you're talking about the stats f/ stage C only, you're right, Beacon & GPS is similar, oversubscribed by around 25%-26%.

But the data above that I gave is f/ the total seats fr stage 1 to 2c.
Good luck f/ all who are going through balloting on stage 2c. Wish u all da best!

Sorry I should have been explicit just now, what I meant was 302/270 is 111.9% not 119%.
