      Hi,

I have performed PV for St. Nicholas last year and this year (for this year P1 registration). My understanding is that the only critieria for PV is i) the child is singaporean, ii) stay within 1km.
We did not go through any interview. After submitted the application form in August, we were called for a briefing. And there were many activites to choose from once you have been selected. We have done filing, packing, cleaning, hanging up decoration, projects, old newspaper collection etc. All the admin staff and teachers are very nice and helpful in helping us to fulfill the 40 hours requirement. In fact, we have done more than that as we really enjoy the project we were doing:)

      Hope this information helps.

        Hello yuenfong99
Thank you so much for yr advise.Oh gosh, are you lucky enough to be ballot in last friday?I really hope so!
May I know ( just out of curousity), how many PV were selected for yr batch? As for clocking of yr PV hours, do they notice you days before the events or do you actually have to call them every now and then to clock yr hours? Are you given a booklet /sheet to clock in/out? And do you think by clocking more hours will be advisable? Thanks for helping!
        :thankyou:

          Hi zoozoozoo,

Yes, my daughter got ballotted last friday, thanks and praise the lord. I must say that the balloting was very stressful, not for the weak heart. I remembered last year abt 28 PV signed up, but only 23 qualified in phase 2b. I do not know the reason, may be they did not fulfill the 40hours. For clocking of hours, they offer a lot of activities during the briefing, then u can choose those u are interested to sign up. When near the date, they will email you. After u performed the task each time, u are required to sign on a log book.

Their PV program seems very organized and flexible. We have clocked about 60 hours as the project we are on is very interesting. As my daughter got a seat at phase 2b, i am not sure whether more hours help in waiting list when fail in balloting. But to me, i treat this as volunteer work, so don’t mind to spend more time.

            :rahrah: Hello Yuenfong99
Congrats! You are so lucky. I was not so lucky some years old. We were ballot out and now my elder girl has to go to another girls' school several kilometres away. Hopefully I will be selected for PV for my second daughter ( who is now only 2 years old). If she is lucky enough to go in, then my younger daughter ( currently in my stomach)can go in too!
Thanks once again Yuenfong99, really appreciate! :snuggles:

              hi zoozoozoo,

did you put your eldest daughter on transfer waitlist from Marymount to St Nick ? if eldest can get transfered in successfully, your 2nd daughter will enter St Nick, under Phase 1 sibling scheme.

                  Hi phtthp
Yupe.Placed her on the waiting list for a few years already.Have called the school up every year also but every year also tell me no seat etc etc.I sort of give up hope already. Moreover, seeing my DD happy at MCS also put my heart at ease.
By the time my younger girl is in P1, my elder girl will have graduated from MCS already( yah..they have a really wide age gap in between). So I hope my DD2 can enter SNGS successfully so that my DD3( still in stomach) can go in under Phase 1. :xedfingers:
