        Scary isn't it?? :yikes:

To have it happened right in the house with soooo many people (brother, piano's teacher, 2 friends etc). I simply dun understand how it could have happened & why didn't the friends called for the brother and piano teacher to help before running OUT for help???

AND The rapist actually DARED to continue with his beastly act despite being confronted.....I really have no words to describe. I think he is a real danger to girls out there ....

Yes... I was quite aghast. I keep wondering what the heck happened to her brother and the piano teacher. And no telephone either? Could have just called the police.

Anyway, 2 18yo men against 1 23yo man still can lose? The guy must be some kind of a monster. Lock him up and throw away the key.

I had the same thoughts too. But he is a trained commando and probably scared the other boys off.

Someone should just borrow my garden shears. If you lock him up, you would still need to look after him... feed him and all. Borrow my garden shears and he can still work and look after himself... and pose no danger at all to society.

              insider:
Don't know due to what, I am scared of men with a certain kind of 'air' / look.

I first realised my this particular fear when I was around 17 years old.

I was sitting on a bus to school.

Up came a man of about early 20s. He sat besides me.

He sat very closely and started talking to me and asking for my phone number.

I was very uncomfortable but gave in to the way he sat so closely to me and gave him my house number (though mentally I knew I should not).

Luckily I needed to alight after the next few bus stop and my ordeal stopped there.

I went home and told my siblings about this young man. Of course they scolded me for being so stupid to have given my house number. He did call subsequently but was told off by my brother.

I analysed and could not find the reason why that at that moment of time, I couldn't even give him a false number.

The other man who gave me the same feeling was one of the opticians who brought me to the small room to test my eyesight. He came very closely to me when adjusting the lenses etc; too close for comfort. Again, I was paralysed and didn't protest.

The third man was my friend's uncle. When looking at him, I felt very uneasy. Nothing happened to me but he molested my another close friend (this uncle actually raped my friend when she was young but somehow my friend didn't have the thought of bringing her girlfriends to her house was dangerous to them).

I couldn't explain it until today of my psychological handicap when facing a man of that kind of 'air' / look. I am far away from stupid but I don't know whether I can behave like a matured woman would do if I meet such kind of men again (there's something to do with their eyes I believe). I concluded it as a 'mental handicap', an unknown gap in my brain that I fail to bridge somehow.

Given that I was a very street wise girl when young, I still suffered from such fears and succumbed to such unspoken threat, some others may have as well...
Hmmmm.....maybe I'm in this category too.....
Was victim to a number of molestation and all I could do was sit & cry..... 😢 and I couldn't even voiced out to friends on the bus who suddenly saw me sobbing away. Was also molested by an uncle who was friend of my dad when young. Would often visit his bookshop to read books then. On the pretext of stroking my hair praising & 'sayang' me of being a good girl, he slowly moved his hands down. Was uneasy but too naive and young to understand what's happening and when his hands finally reached my butts, I stopped visiting cos' could not stand the uneasiness.... Years later, realised I was molested :faint: So now I tell my DD, no matter who.....touching them beyond certain point must come and tell me and cannot be soft-hearted !!!!

                Moral of the story 1....

Do not have any dark secrets that anyone can hold one ransom to.

                Moral of the story 2.....

Even if there is a dark secret, TRUST your parents to deal with it than to subject oneself to more dark secrets in future.

I always advise my child to come clean with me on anything, then there is a solution. Hiding only propagates future problems as I WILL always find out, one way or another, only a matter of time and she agrees from experience. Solving problem together consistently with the children also build trust in the parents for a child to want to share.

At 3, my daughter knew the word \"Pervert!!\" and I showed her where NO ONE ELSE but me should touch her. And that she was to tell me if anyone did that after she told him/her not to. From 7 to 8, I would cut out news articles about rape and molest and talk her through. I taught her strategies for personal safety and never allowed her to take the lift home alone.

In Sec 1, we arrived at a classmate's house to find the only Dad at home. I chose to ferry her away and then back again when the rest of her classmate's family arrived home.

Really kiasu... but I know a girl who was raped at 10, in a lift on the way home, and I took every precaution with my girl.
