I just checked \"My Status\",
(on #1 behalf) not offered. Think hubby would be very relieved. So should I tell #1 now? Or wait till the oral is over? -
Might be better to wait till the Oral exam is over.

How insensitive!! Can't they(NUSH) just wait until the Orals are over b4 releasing the outcome. -

Hi kohjJennifer:
I hv been checking the \"My status\" since last week. There is an extra \"Step 10: Accepted offer to attend informal tea session\" today. Seems like we would be hearing from the sch soon.
Thanks for the info - I just checked, and yes, I've also got that extra Step 10. Hope that means it's good news!
Did your kid make it? -

Hi Sally
Hi kohj
Did your kid make it?
Unfortunately, no. But the silver lining is that this will make my son work harder for PSLE.
How about your child? -

Yes, you are right, sometime negative result might not mean bad. For my boy when he was not selected by RI for the selection test he told us that he will study hard and score well in the PSLE to approve RI that they make a mistake of not giving him a chance for the selection test. And he has been focusing in his revision for the past 1 month and now he said that he hope to make it for the EEIS Scholarship..
I believe that your boy will do well in his PSLE. -

Thanks, Sally, and CONGRATS! That must be a load off your mind.

I told my son the news in as encouraging a way as possible, and after the initial disappointment, he told me during lunch that he will work very hard for PSLE. It turned into a sort of internal motivation for him. I am really glad he took it that way, and I believe he will grow stronger because of this temporary setback. -

Yes, he is happy to make it to his dream school but worry to see that the way he prepared for the PSLE. Hope the day come soon and he can really enjoy before the 6 hard years ahead. -

Hi Jennifer
I decided to tell my son cos I didn't want him to face tomorrow alone in school when other children discuss who got in and who didn't. And my son will be wondering whether he got in or not, and may be distracted during Oral.
I decided I preferred to bite the bullet today, and spend time talking to him, encouraging him, and if need be, let him get it out of his system.
No matter what, if you don't tell him today, he is bound to hear from friends tomorrow in school that the NUSH result is out. But of course, you need to assess his reaction/personality and decide whether to tell him now or wait until after the Oral. Only you can decide as his parent.
That's my 2 cents worth! -
