I suppose your girls are not in P6 yet. There was a briefing in Mar for P6 parents where slides are shown. You can go to sch website to get the info as well.

The information you mentioned is not available on the school website. Any chance you can recall any of the info?

          Hi

Just wondering if there are EM3 classes in RGPS?
I think they don't call EM3 now. They have renamed it to Foundation course. Yes, RGPS does have Foundation course. I suppose not all students in RGPS (or any schools) are bright. But there are certainly more bright students in RGPS as they take in GEP students from all over Singapore in P4.

No info on last yr's SA1. We don't need such info since different cohort.

However, info on how many students went to RGS, Nanyang, River Valley, Cresent, St. Margarets etc was given.

              Hi Caroline3sg
My girls are also in RGPS. Care to share how many studnets went to the respective school you mentioned? What I heard is around 60-70 pupils go to RGS each year. But I am more interested in other schools. Would appreciate if you could share. Tks.

I remember asking one of the admin staff this question and the answer was 16-17% of all P6. Take this year for example 14 classes, 11x30(mainsteam) + 3x25(GEP) = 405 students in P6. 17% of 405 = 68 students. Yeah, is around there.

But we have to take note that majority of them are from GEP who get into RGS thru DSA.

I noticed there are 2 classes in P3 use different Maths textbooks. Just wonder is the school preparing them for GEP, Olympiad or other Maths competitions. Any advise from upper primary parents?

Have not heard that one. The school has just built an Indoor Sports Hall (ISH) completed this year, not likely yeah? (Or is this wistful thinking since I live really close by)

Heard about the RGSS \"merger\" with RI though but that's been a rumour for years!

I think U R referring to classes 3E N 3F// they are using \"shaping up \" instead of My pals maths bk. These two classes are supposed to be for those who achieved good scores in p2.(that means very clever but not so true)as the school streams the grls every 2 years based on their results. Raffles used to use shaping up for maths from p1 but changed to my pals 3 yrs back. No idea whether they r preparing them for compttion etc but the so called more itellectual ones are in these two classes. Of course more stress n more homework, more \"out of the box\"kind of learning\\\\\\ The rest of the classes are normal, but still have hope to join the two classes if they perform well in exzms. BTW the exam papers are the same as the normal classes except marking will be much more strict. Do u have a child in p2?
