We bought a full size from Gramercy recently. It is from Italy maker Paolo Vettori. There are others makers from France, Czech, Japan etc.
The price of the violin determines the sound of the violin. You have to set your budget first.
There are other shops in Singapore : Synwin, Amber Craft etc. -

Can ask the tr to select for you if you're not sure? I hate having to go thru all those choices, and then not knowing if you're really getting a good deal.We bought a full size from Gramercy recently. It is from Italy maker Paolo Vettori. There are others makers from France, Czech, Japan etc.

When our boy had to change to a larger violin, we asked his tr to choose to go personally to choose. The violin was really beautiful - tone was lovely. Very happy with purchase. -
Actually I thought we do not know how to choose, amazingly my son knows very well when he try on it without knowing the price of the violin, A good violin makes a big different only the player knows so well. I suggest you go to check around with your child, then ask the teacher to check and finalize for you. It takes time to make a good purchase. You have to set your budget first. I believe the shops in Singapore are quite reasonable as you also can check from internet first. This is what I did.

Does any of the shops that sell violin here in Singapore have trade-in programmes? E.g. if you buy a $500 1/8 violin from them now, and a year later, wish to upgrade to a $500 1/4 violin, shops that have trade-in programmes, would take back your 1/8 violin and say, offer a 40% credit, so you end up only paying $300 for the new violin.
I know it is pretty common in the States, but not sure in Singapore? I’ve asked a few music schools in Singapore but they do not have such trade-in programmes. Any ideas?
Thanks!!! -

Cool! Thanks luckystar for your prompt response! Do you know what's their trade-in programme like?
Thanks again!
