Like make a mountain out of a molehill
I do hope the authorities will provide all the facts and figures soon..
otherwise we are really seeing no end to this bashing and trashing..
if the figures supports the sentiments then a solution of some sort can be studied and implemented but
if the figures does not then all that can stop, go back to their normal lives and reassess their own standing. -
Any parents do PV in 2 schools instead of one? Allow to do pv when kid is only 2 years old?

yes, there are parents who pv in 2 schools. 2 years old (a bit young) but would advise you to call up the choice school to check on availability and requirement asap. dont wait till the last minute. even if school said to call again when your kid is 4 years old, just call them again when she is 3 because things/circumstance/policies in school might have changed. -

most schools will not allow as the term is usually from jul year before to jun of year of registration
but i did read about some schools allowing the duration to be > 1 yr. I think is NYPS, not sure though. -
BigDevil:
But if you are going to PV for schools which require parents to work 80 (or more) hours instead of the standard 40, then you should submit your form the year your child turns 3.

This was what verykiasu2010 said when I asked about it in NYPS thread.most schools will not allow as the term is usually from jul year before to jun of year of registration

Will update if more parents confirm it.verykiasu2010:
From what I know, the 80 hours can be fulfilled in one or two years, because the PV can start earlier - it can be earlier than the 12 months before Pri 1 registration.....I know someone started doing PV when the child is only 3 years young

Should parents only do PV in schools that are less than 2km from house?

Looking at the trend this year, I would say <1km would be a safer bet. But there is also that option if one applies for PV in a school > 2km and then upon confirming that PV application is approved, proceed to buy a home <1km from the school. This is again no guarantee but at least provides a chance for balloting. It is a tough call...

Oic... Just move away from a good school.Oppsgal:

Why do you ask? As RRMummy said seeing the current trend its more worthwhile to do a PV if you are <1KM
Thought can go do PV to get in, since now got time... But then if more than 2km, do PV also no use, then no need to do pv.
Current place I stay, schools not much ranking... so no need do pv.
