Cos i really hate to hv her do it when she goes back on home leave … Wat if she can’t find the place? Or no one near her place or long q at surabaya airport or most offices packed or relax cos fasting month … Or she find this chance to delay coming bk or not come bk at all? Sorry for so many ifs cos i m paranoid that we r not able to get more firm info abt this. Many uncertainties!!! ‘sigh’

Need urgent help here! :scared: My maid tested positive for hep A IgG antibodies. I'm confused. Do I need to have the IgM results to know if she's still infectious or what? Should I send her away?
Thanks! -

Hi,
My Indo maid decided to renew her 2 yrs contract. Her contract ends in Oct 2011. So, she is going back early for her home leave to celebrate her Hari Raya this month.
Will there be any problem in applying the KTKLN? The renewal of contract will be done after she come back from her leave.
Please advise.
Thanks
hi shine_fs,
seems that they will issue the KTKLN card if you have all the documents ready. You may wish to confirm this with mel@sph. -
Was catching up on the reading and I definitely agree with the fact that maids are very smart and will act differently according to who they are with.
Some of my mil's previous maids were quite nasty to me because they knew that I was not the one in power. One maid purposely mopped the stairs and made it so wet early in the morning, because I was the only one who woke up that early. She was unhappy that she had to wake up early to make me breakfast.
Another one was plain horrible. She put my dirty clothes unwashed back on the racks, and used my personal belongings, cos I didn't have the lock to my room. She even cursed and scolded me behind everyone's back, and when I complained. No one believed me!
BZmum, and smh forest, my mum is the opposite of yours and will keep telling me not to be so ngiao!
My current maid after 3 weeks still doesn't really keep to the schedule. But cos I have to look after dd, and get her ready for school and stuff, I don't have the time to watch over her 24/7.
The funny thing is that although she appears to like playing with dd in front of me, what we are out with my mum, and the maid is supposed to help my mum with dd, the maid will be busy checking out her surroundings rather than help my mum.
If I close one eye, her work is okay, but somehow I still feel uneasy about this maid. I definitely still don't trust her enough to look after my dd. She was supposed to have 3 years of exp in the Philippines looking after 3 young children. When I asked her about it, she said that was from 2001-2004, which means that she was a maid when she was 14-17 years old! Don't even know if she's telling the truth cos she def know nuts about changing diapers or even how to carry kids. And her housework really isn't fantastic either. -
I also find that my maid acts one way in front of me, and another way in front of my husband. Does anyone else has that experience?
She will show a black face in front of me, but will not do that in front of my husband. Maybe she thinks that my husband has the authority to do the firing and hiring?
Quite undecided about this maid, but the thought of having to look for another one really puts me off. Like another parent here, I keep thinking, what if the next one is worse? Sigh!
I really hate to depend on maids! But if I don’t have one, I’ll prob have to give my dog away when I go back to work next year. -

My maid is the same. She has been with us for about 1.5 years now. Started off very on-the-ball and do things proactively. She claims that she has worked in KL for a Chinese family for 4-years so I expected her to know \"stuff\".I also find that my maid acts one way in front of me, and another way in front of my husband. Does anyone else has that experience?
About 6-9 months into the employment she started to get lazy. She listens to me but not my mother. Problem is that I do travel at times and my mother would complain to me about her going off doing what she pleases. She never admit her mistakes and sometime I catch her answering loudly to my mother.
Maid.. such headache. But I can't do without one at the moment -
happy to be mum:
My 1st maid was talkative. She made friends with all the maids in my neighbourhood. She can talk to all PHL that she met, even those that she saw in restuarants while we are having our meals. She's usually the one who striked the conversation. But she doesnt talk much to us.hi there
anyone with FTM that talk and talk alot? My DH stand is that maids should be allow to talk else they will be \"kuku\". I also agree but recently i really feel my Phinoy maid is talking so excessingly & it does bother me. Told her before, after telling will be okay then will be back again. thinking now whether to renew or not renew her, 50 / 50. She is a fast worker and can trust her with my kids alone.
My DH said she did no major wrongs so if I decide not to continue with her, not very fair but I know it will be difficult for her to change since we have allowed it already. How?
I think it is a personality thing. Tough to change. -
Nid some advise here:
Recently my DD2 has been very notti… esp towards helper… aws wants to beat her or slap her… we will scold her if we saw… but hor… at times when she’s alone wif my helper… she will also slap/beat her… when she insist DD2 go bath or eat, etc… ytd… when my mum went over my plc… DD2 was crying… N upon seeing my mum told her tat helper beat her… Mum questioned helper, n DD1 defended helper saying it was mei mei who beat aunty den aunty beat mei mei…
Wat do u parents tink?
Firstly, hw can i stop DD2 frm beating helper?
Secondly, do u allow ur helper to beat ur kids, even if ur kids are the ones tat started first? -
No. Helper cannot beat kid, even if the kid started it 1st.
How hard can a kid’s slap feel on an adult, compared to an adult’s slap on a kid?
It will become a habit if u don’t give a warning to your helper on hitting your kids. She shld approach yourself or your mum for help to discipline your kids n not take things into her own hands. It is v dangerous to let the helper discipline your kids.
Btw, you hv not say how old is your DD2 and your DD1.
And how long has your maid been with you. -
mlim650,
must be frustrating for your mum! Did you talk to your helper about this? I told my helper that she must never be rude to me or any of my family members or me.
Still can’t decide if showing a black face and smirking etc is considered rude.
Would you tolerate a maid who shows a black face, but who still talks politely to you?
