        hi,

could anyone share where are the affected areas for upgrading? i prob missed reading that post..

i haven't chanced upon the canteen nor the bathrooms but from what i 've been reading, i hope they are included too..

looking forward to tmr when the official letter comes in! :imcool:
        Hi wimdils,

e letter nv states wat e affected areas are. It only indicates add'l facilities (eg. redesigned classrms, band rm, dance studio, performing arts studio, outdr jogging path, indr sports hall) aft upgrading. 🕺 Most of it will b built on e existing plot of land whr e student care ctr is.

There's no mention of e canteen or toilets being upgraded though. 😂

can'tbearit, I hope it won't be too dusty! My dd used to have sensitive lungs when she was younger, its better now, but I certainly hope she won't be breathing in loads of dust daily :scared:
Guess all of us parents juz need 2b vigilant & monitor e situation. Only wen e work begins, we will noe. But i guess some dust can't b avoided.

can'tbearit, that means my dd2 and your dd2 will be in the same year at MCS 🙂 Where are you aiming for ds? Planning for PV somewhere?

Hello Mummy meow & gorilla & michyms , glad to meet all of you here..

Hi michyms , I actually eyeing for Catholic high (because it's within 1km) but i was told it's very hard to get in and they don't really need PV...anyone knows about this?

Niccc, one of my dd's classmate's father did PV at cat high and balloted within 1km to get him in. So they do accept pv. But competition is intense and balloting within 1km at phase 2b and 2c is guaranteed. Last year, there were 60 people balloting for 9 seats at phase 2b. This year is better as the number of available seats went up to 20plus. So even if u do pv it's not guaranteed, so must think of a back up plan.

I had another friend who went for the cat high PV talk and she told me that
a the school encourages parents to do projects for the school for pv such as repairing parts of the school etc, and according to her this means having to
spend money! So really depends on whether you're willing to do so. Think
you should call the school up and go for the pv talk to find out more.

How old is our ds now? When is going into p1?

Hi michyms, thanks for the info. My DS is born in 2008 so will be reg'd in 2014 for yr 2015. It's too early to ask for PV now right? I'm sure there'll be some changes in these few years...but have a feeling that it'll be more competiti  ve than now. I should look for backup plan but too bad my area only have 2 schools that's within 1 km, Ai Tong and Catholic High, both are \"hot\".

                    Hi Tinkerbelle

Thanks. A welcome much appreciated. Kinda gladly assured that current MCS parents are forthcoming and giving advice to us newbies on what to expect.

Yeap....we're a nice bunch of people here at MCS....keke.

Yeah, it's a relief to know we don't have to move.

cantbearit2, thanks for the info on the student care. It’s an option for me. My daughter will also probably end up watching tv back at my aunt’s place. Will see how it goes.
