I recently borrowed a book on Ilustrated Stories of Shakespeare. I think P1-2 can read it easily but what is good is early exposure to Shakespeares. My dd enjoys it and highly recommended it.
Thanks, maybe there's no booklist for P1 & 2s.XYZ1:
I've never seen any reading list at all as well...all ds has is just a blank list for him to record down the books he reads.
DS has read some of the books in the list notabox posted. I strongly recommend No. 58 - The Happy Prince. Someone from KSP recommended this book to me previously.
It's a story about compassion and sacrifice. DS was deeply moved and affected by that story. Another book I'll surely get ds to read - eventually - is George Orwell's Animal Farm. All kids must read that book too, hehe. -

Scary, can I suggest you go online and get the food from BBQwholesale. Very nicely prepared food.
Scary, the one thing I wish to share with you is .........Scary:
Cheerie and Willow and other Parents who are going for the balloting tomorrow,
Less than 24 hours now. All the Best!!
For the charcoal, pls get those with hollow core. They burn better.
For the starter, don't get those house brands, they don't start well.
If you're using kerosene to spread the fire, pls let it burn for at least 60 min before barbequing the food. It's for health reason.
If you're bringing chicken wings, don't forget to buy the wooden stick skewers so that they can spread out the wings and the chicken can be cooked evenly. -

Moxie lists were given to top 4 classes during my dd's P2. It's ζ·±εΉΏ list. I remembered reading some time back that all of this year's enbloc P2 classes were given moxie but started with simpler sentences, instead of paragraphs.
Almost the same list. But their Chinese class are Banded though. So some class might not have moxie. -

Boys-mummy, there was an announcement in school those interested please go get the form from the GO (I think) but my girl missed that and we wrote to ask Mr Tan if he could help us sign up (cos only school can e-sign up). Then we were surprised that there were a total of 9 swimmers in PH and all are quite good.Funx3:
:yikes: There is a interprimary school swimming competition and PH is participating??? How is thisa possible when they dont even have a swimming as CCA??? My son swims competitively at APS swimming school and I was hoping he would join the school team but was very disappointed!! :slapshead:
Hi boys-mummy,
If There is an Inter-sch Sports events that is Not offered as CCA by the Sch, U can still Registered your Boy in the Event, representing the sch.
But U Need to Visit the Primary Sch Sports Page, keep in contact with the sch to let them know (Maybe Drop a Note to the Head of CCA, Mr Tan Leng Koon), or Even ask your boy's swimming Coach to keep U inform of the Registration Date, etc.
My Gal's Gym Mate represented Pei Hwa in Artistic Gym this Year (though the Sch Disbanded the CCA last year) and the Boy's Artistic Gym has been doing that for Years ....
Actually there R other Sports talent within Pei Hwa that R Lesser known.
Manny Lesser known Sports talent abound in Pei Hwa.
I have read of a P5 (Or P6? Can't Recall ....) Pei Hwa Gal going for Inter-National Golf Competitions (and Winning Many Events), and Another P6 Gal who has Won in Tennis Competition in S'pore.
So even if the Sch does not offer the CCA your son specialised in, U Could still rep the Sch.
:celebrate: :celebrate:
Yes, there's no school team. Anyway, I think it's better to swim with good coaches in proper swim school. More kids of the same age group together will create more competition during training...
Don't worry, next year any competition I pm you....

Great Thanks!!! My boy really wants to swim with the school... we even contemplated transferring him to ACS.... for this purpose...
I am glad to see the many different views from parents here... And honestly, I do see a more controlled & responsible person in my boy after joining PH... Its been 7 months there, & have to say it was one bumpy ride, but he has been doing well in all subjects... I need to start thinking, am I being selfish & greedy??!! What else do I want??? Sports??? Can he handle it too?? hmmm
Thanks guys & gals... :grphug: -

I think it is teacher dependant. My dd enjoys her time in PH a lot.
Or gate related!! hahahha.... Dont know whether the teachers in the other gates call the parents into the school & scold the kids in front of the parents... their idea of a feedback...boys-mummy:
Congrats and welcome.
:rahrah: Yes indeed it is great news to be in PHPS, however, when you are finally in, you would want to get out... you will soon be freaked out by the system and the teachers.... you should have been at the back gate at term 1 & 2. many girls cried and simply refused to go to school coz the teachers shouted in class & scolded kids with \"I dont care...\" \"SHUT-UP\" etc etc... BTPS seems more a happier place...
or perhaps class related... some P1 classes have their share of super-happy ADHD kids and the teachers can't handle them together with the normal 30 kids... Poor teachers... :yikes: -

Ok, I choose one good DIL.
Scary, looks like IJJ dd2 is not going to surrender her seat then. Sorry, a good DIL is better than a good BBQ.
:siam:
Don't need IJJ dd2 to surrender cos that means on waiting list.
:rahrah: You will get both eventually. BBQ either this year (next month??) or 1-2 yrs later.

During 2B balloting, my deacon and his wife had a huge surprise. They went in with faith and their child's name was not called out until the very last slot. The # that rep their child just dropped out from the ball even before principal turned it.
Markfch, I think hor...you are getting...errrr...old. My dd2 is not due for registration...this year yet.
But I did surrender a place, my eldest's, since she will not be back P5/6. I am letting go of hers for a P5er to be transfered in next year. :imanangel:
I din know my deacon's wife is funx3...wait..funx3 got no.4 in K2 now? :scratchhead: -

All the best to those balloting. Everything has already been in the Plan. :rahrah: :rahrah:
All the best!!! :rahrah: :rahrah: :rahrah:
Btw, I was told during 2B balloting this year, the media was gathered at the entrance to interview the parents. They asked my deacon and his wife, who were holding hands, iwere they so nervous that they had to hold so tightly. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: My deacon replied, \"We are going in with faith and trust in God, whatever the result will be, will be. So no pressure, no stress.\" Just sharing.
