      Hi KSP

I find it kind of confusing how the selection process works....my grls class was tol to score abv 90marks in all subjects. I asked one teacher n she mentioned above 95, another teacher said abv 90. :? I believe its above 90marks. There are 30 in a class for p1 n p2.....no. of kids in p3 increased to 40 now.. 80 were selected for E and F class....15 came from my grls class and not all scored high 90s in all subjects, there are some that scored 90 n above and was not selected whereas there r some that scored high 80s in one subject and got in. :? The bad thing is if u cant make the mark, than the grl will be transfered back to normal class. Im not too sure whether there are any changes when ur grl reaches P2 but this is how it is, as for now. Hey, time flies yr grl will soon be in p2.
Maybe they look at total score, that is the child's total score in English, Math and Chinese? And the top 80 girls based on this score get selected into E/F? So a child scoring high 90s in 2 subjects and high 80 in one subject would still on aggregate score better than a child with low 90s in all three subjects.

Even in PSLE, it is possible for a child w/ 3A* and 1A to have a higher aggregate than another w/ 4A*.

I would think it is based on the cut-off of the total points for 3 subjects of the top 80 students. So it will be very hard for the teachers to gauge the point for individual subject. Based on result I know from P1, average 95 to be sure and 90 could be borderline. That works out to be total aggregate points 285 and 270 for 3 subjects.

          40 in each P3 class?

I find it hard to control even there are 30 in a class.

Yeah, RGSS absolutely refused to be merged with RI/RJC and lose its identity. Yeah!!

            Yeah indeed!!!! :celebrate:

Moonee...I totally agree with you! That was why KS Chee, the previous P before Carmee Lim (make that 3 P's ago, coz Carmee was before Deborah!) insisted on moving back to the Anderson site although some part of the land got sold

She went back to her old kindergarten school this morning to visit her K1/K2 teachers and passed them some Teacher's Day Cards. I'm glad that she can still remember her old teachers and show appreciation to them.

hi ksp, quite right , there is a cut off point based on their aggregate points … kind of lower than the previous yr though, still there r some that met with the expected marks n did not get in n vice versa I guess its no point speculating, lets c how its gonna b for ur kid when she reaches end 2010 maybe with the new P there may not be streaming. The kids tend to get emotional when they have to part with their classmates. Btw is ur grls form teacher a chinese?
