My DD's CCC concert last year was held outside the CCC but still near enough to the CCC. I think each seat was about $20 which included a simple door gift but no refreshments. There was no limit to the no. of seats we could buy so we got 4 for PILs and sashimi and me. We paid for one costume (reasonable price) which was really nice and DD wore it again for Chinese New Year the following year. 😉 The other 2 costumes for a rock n roll dance (the skirt was really colourful!) and a play (animal costume) were rented. I can't remember if we were asked to help pay for the rental of the costumes and props. Also, since my DD was in K2 last year, she had an additional \"costume\", the graduation gown and mortarboard.

All the children from PG right up to BASC performed. sashimi and I felt that the money was well spent as DD enjoyed performing/going up on stage and we enjoyed watching her perform.

I think we paid $50 for two of us to attend. It was supposed to be $85 including a buffet lunch but a lot of parents protested. When I told my in-laws, they were like "huh?" How come got to pay to attend k2 concert one?

My son’s childcare held theirs in the childcare premise and the concert opens up to all K1s and K2s. All free except $30/$35 for 1 costume and themed toy requried for the dance. Personally I find it a waste to spend money on costume as got to wear it only once for the concert occassion and most importantly as a parent I dont mind at all what they wear, it’s already a great pleasure seeing them dancing, skit-ing, close-up in front of live audience.

That was last year. This year I noticed that school gave an option whether parents want to allow their kid/s to participate in the concert and if yes, the cost is $35. Must be due to some parent’s complaints/feedbacks on cost last year.

A concert preparation work is something like this...
Ah... yet another quotable wisdom from insider! I like this one.

Wow. $200 is really expensive! I’m thankful that my kids’ school doesn’t charge for seats. We only have to pay for the costumes. Not sure how much yet, but I will keel over if it’s $200 per child…

There is this child care in the north asking parents to pay $200 for an hour k2 concert for 4 seats. Is it norm to pay $200 for a k2 concert for 4 seats? I find it ridiculous....

Can't they just find a cheap place like in school to do it? Why should the parents bear all the cost???
Wow 1 seat at $50 is indeed expensive. Normally for my Kindergarten the concert is free but have to bear the cost of the constumes. Hopefully this
year the constumes can be wear for outdoor activities.

Care to share is this a PAP or Private Kindergarten?

Talking about K2 Graduation Concert, I remembered I paid closed to $500 for my Daughter Concert which was 6 yrs ago ( now she is in P6).

It was indeed ex, I remembered that I was so reluntant when I was writing out the cheque. :!:

Although the Graduation Concert was indeed impressive having been held at the Victoria Concert Threatre and the whole 2 hrs show was rather " professional", I still think it was a waste to spend so much money, or too extravagant, just for a kid’s concert. What to do…if you wanna to watch your kid on stage and everyone was paying for it.

The payment included 1 st 2 tickets (for parents) at $100, subsequent 2 tickets (for grandparents) at $80, Graduation Professional Photo- taking (around $120), Concert Photo-taking, 1 CD and 1 VCD, 2 costumes at $40 each ( for a Eng and Chinese Musical Drama). Did I leave out anything else, I think that’s all. Oh ya…the school gave a small graduation gold ring to my daughter.

It seems to me that kindergarten graduations are really getting more elaborate nowadays. I just hope I don’t hv to pay a bomb in 3 years time.
