Compare RGS vs NYGH

My ds everday sees RGS girls so not keen in them. Not too long ago went to NGHS home coming, saw few interesting and pretty girls. Overall impression not bad though they are too few in numbers. His remarks were pretty and chio girls are mainly found in neighbourhood schools. GOD is dam fair! Girls from MGS, SCGS, ST.Nicks, Cedar, CGS, TKKS, DHS, RVHS, Anglican High are good compromise choices lah. Generally as intelligent and definately prettier than the top two girls school.
What a coincidence....that's the same comment from my nephew as well....though he is not from ACSI but SJI.stetan:
I asked my nephew who is in ACSI what he thinks of Nanyang vs RGS girls. His reply
Nanyang girls are cheena and dependent . Raffles girls are more adaptable and independent
He further mentioned that all these remarks about RGS/NGHS girls are sterotype from people who have not studied with them. -

Yes...indeed. Sterotyping do exist....I remeber in my JC days, it was going around that CJC has the highest abortion rates lol
so I guess the current word-of-mouth is that NYHS girls are cheena, RGS girls are not pretty and MCG girls are chio

my dd appealed into rgs and was successful. They require u to write an essay about ur achievements that u are proud of but NOT academic achievements. That's the personal statement. Then, fill in some forms and hand it in to rgs. They will inform u of the results via phone call. yup.
why dun you try NYGH? I heard it easier -

Though pretty girls are everywhere, among the jcs, they are mainly found in VJ, Temasek, ACJC, AJC, ST. Andrews and CJC. -
Oh dear. So much stereotyping of girls. The posters here seem to imply that brains and beauty can’t go together.

I had asked my ds this question many times:
Choose only one answer from the following question
A. A very pretty girl who is a school drop out.
B. A below average looking girl from a top jc
C. An above average looking girl from a tier 2 jc.
His choice is C!
It speaks volume why attractive looks are so critical to a teenager and of particular importance in the coporate world. -
Edureach:
So your son didn't choose A, so brains still matter a smidgen to him. How about offering himjtoh:

An above average-looking girl from a top JC?

Since there’s so much stereotyping about girls based on brains and beauty, let me turn the tables on the boys. Which would you choose?
1. A below-average (read: geeky) looking boy who’s highly intelligent
2. An average looking boy from a Tier 2 JC
3. A handsome young man who’s a school drop-out
4. None of the above.
I choose 4. Why? Because it doesn’t matter if you have looks and brains, but no heart and soul. I would want my life partner to be someone whom I can trust, rely upon and who’ll always be there for me. -

Logical ....
I have the impression that ACSI boys like girls from MGS and SCGS better. In Year 5&6, many of their schoolmates would be ex-MGS and SCGS girls.stetan:

By virtue of their JCs, there'll be a number of RI/RGS pairings and NYGH/HCI pairings.
Jing-Shui-Lou-Tai-Xian-de-Yue ....
