For those who are organised hoarders or disorganised hoarders, what’s your blood group? Trying to establish a relation between the two.

I am A+, considered myself as a organised hoarder of recipes.

Nah...I don't think Chief is autistic...He has all the very signs of being an irritating perfectionist....wah....I salute your wife for being able to stand you...hahaha

Yes... and that makes two of us. I can't stand myself mostly, but what to do, the world still needs to be sorted out. And I guess my wife still can tahan me because she needs some order in her life, while I admire her ability to be so nonchalant about being untidy. The perfection comes from our very imperfections.

cut up his steak in 'surgical precision' as he strives to cut each piece in exactly similar in size in a specific direction/sequence with preplanned rationing to ensure that his main and side course last equally throughout the meal.

I know of a friend, GM of a branded goods company.

He is a terrible perfectionist (that makes me think that he is sick in some way).

When he has visitors in his house, he will serve plain water. He must make sure that water in each glass in of EQUAL height and of EQUAL temperature (if guests want warm water) before he serves the water out. We always tell him \"ching chai lah\" but he said very SERIOUSLY, \"CANNOT ching chai...\"

Other than that, he seems normal...

I know an ex-colleague who is very strict about the way the bathroom towels hang down from the rails. Both ends of the towels most be at the exact level. She will spend some time checking it. She is a capable and intelligent lady.

            ChiefKiasu:

I would spend my life organizing things and then never touch them again for fear of having to organize them again :stupid: .

My library is properly classified after deep thought to come up with the configuration that allows me to store the greatest amount of books in the available space, and yet allow the quickest access to the ones I use most.
Haha... I certainly see myself in what you have described above. For certain things that I have packed so well, I really hate to touch them for fear of getting them disorganised, or for fear that I would forget to place them in the same manner as previously (this also applies to small little ornaments that I have taken pain to arrange in the display cabinet - as a result, I have told all my helpers that there is no need to clean them...lucky them!) This dislike for anyone to touch my highly organised (or at least in my opinion) cupboards or drawers extends to everyone, and especially DH. I won't be able to recognise my drawer or cupboard after he opens it, even if I tell him exactly where to look to get something :x

Same goes for my library and CD collections. So imagine my :x whenever my MIL is in town and staying with us. She would take books from the bookshelves, a few at a time and then not put back in the same or almost the same slots (see, I can actually tolerate some discrepancies, but... I guess certain things just run in the family). The CDs are the worst. She must be really bored one day in the house and started to take my CD out one by one, just to look to pass time :!: :!: :faint: But DH would never understand what's the big deal...ok, this story should be reserved for another thread.

On the topic of CD, DH has this irritating habbit of putting whatever CD that is in the player into the case of the next CD that he is going to play. Is there anybody out there who is like that?!!

I try to organise my kids' books, by category and by height or size of the books, but almost give up now. Time no enough!

I am also a perfectionist when it comes to packing luggage. As a result, a few times quite close to missing flights  So DH quite stressed by me all the time, as he is always the punctual one (not just taking flight but for even unimportant events) while I am the perpetual late-comer πŸ˜›

Must have some fair share of stress from each other mah. πŸ˜‰

sashimi!! And it's not just CDs but DVDs and CD-ROMs too! If I am the last one to use the DVD player, and I presume that I will be the next one to use it, I will leave my DVD in the player. But sometimes, sashimi will use it after me and he will put my DVD into his DVD case, even when my DVD case is just sitting on the shelf above within reach and sight. The problem is that it may take a while for me to get back to what I was watching and meanwhile, sashimi (who loves to watch a few series at one go, for variety, he says) will have a few DVD cases laid out in front of the player. Imagine how annoyed I get when I have to look through so many cases for my missing DVD! :stupid:

Jedamum's DH and Chief seems to be suffering from some form of Obessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
 i think it is mainly old habits die-hard; his weird habits (eg arranging of notes, daily check routine, eating style, plainwater with 4pcs of ice, sequence in folding burger wrappers when eating burger etc πŸ˜‰) have served him well all these years, so why change (he must be thinking...). For me, my untidy habits have serve me well too...erhm...i can find my stuff amidst the mess....and usually after the long overdue spring cleaning, i can't find my stuff.... :!:

Yes, very annoying for me too.

When we first got married and I was arranging his CDs, OMG! All the CDs were in the wrong case! :faint: :faint:

Or a hoarder could be something related to their zodiac sign? Recently found out that majority Capricorns around me LOVE to keep, no throw!! Any hoarders out there having this zodiac sign??

Perfectionists...usually difficult to have a maid working for them...Those who can have maid to work for them for more than two years / four years / six years / etc are usually those who can close one eye ones...

So, if you keep changing maid, maybe have to ask whether coz it's due to your 'perfectionist' nature...

PS: I have a few perfectionist friends, well to do, but all without maids, coz if maid with them, either they murder the maid or vice versa coz the maid can never meet up to their expectations...
I am quite a perfectionist in certain things, friends/colleagues who know me said so, but it is mostly on myself, (hmm... if only that also applied to my studies). However, for people who work with me, I can close one eye, sometimes 1 1/2-eyes also can. No choice, you just have to work with what you have.

So the domestic helper who would put away our things in whatever space that she could find as long as they are out of sight - believe it or not, she had even put our underwear in some living room cabinets after we moved house as there were many things lying around initially - despite all her shortcomings including extreme rudeness to both DH and me, stayed with us for 4 years. We continued to employ her after the first 2 years because we thought she was at least reliable in looking after our DD, given that we did not have anyone else at home to keep an eye on her.

But we really really endure her rudeness loh, especially in the last 2 years, to the extent that many people told us that we ought to fire her.
