Essential, this is based on my previous teaching exp. I think for p1 they will try to allocate all the better teachers to guide the students n give them the Pastoral care needed.

Janet, is this the case for IJ TPY?

I doubt if the classes are allocated by registration phases. It would breed insularity I think. When my friends and I registered in the same phase (all of us are old girls), our kids were placed in different classes.

There was one theory that maybe the girls were allocated by their parents’ occupations, as somebody noticed a high percentage of professionals (the girls talk) among parents in her daughter’s class. But we realized later that it was the same for other classes.

As for food catering at P1…that is no longer the case. The catered food was an interim practice when the P1s (and P2 at one point) were the only students in the afternoon session. It was not viable for the school canteen to open only for those few girls. Now that all the levels are in the morning session, everyone uses the canteen.

Bus fares are higher than for other schools and vary depending on distance. So be prepared. It seems they charge more also if you live in a private property.

Oh Janet where u get the info that allocation is based on phrases? Is it on first come first serve basis?

My daughter's classmates are from Phase 2A2 and Phase 2B...ex-classmate's youngest daughter is together with another ex-classmate's daughter under Phase 1 and in same class.

I believe all the teachers allocated for P1 are equally good.
As for P1 preparation, try to read more to the girls and increase their vocabulary.

The classes are named after flowers...like Orchid, Rose, Hibiscus.
I don't know which are the top classes. Anyway, P1s will enbloc to same class to P2. There will be streaming at the end of P2.
