Thks walterp, metadorepy & DVL for all the useful information.

May I also know how many subj do they study in NUSH during yr 1, or shld I say each yr? Same as IP scho? I think IP sch has 8 to 10 subj for each yr. If the students are studying the same number of subj, where do they get the time to learn so much in depth? Do they need to stay in sch late very often?

I was "force" into Pure Science during sec sch days. I find it so difficult to cope with Science, so when I read abt the acceleated prog, it looks a bit scary to me. They are so much faster… like bullet train! What if the student can’t cope.

GEP prog is fast… I don’t think it’s as fast as NUSH. My DS will be happy to hear abt the CCA!!! He does not like any CCA at all!!!

that's alot from a single sch!!

Yeah, That is a lot if you consider 7 out of 29 girls in a cohort size of 140 boys + girls. But then I was told they could have been more girls in the cohort if 5 or 6 more ex-RGPS girls did not give up their CO for RGS/NYGH.
But things may change this year ever since top ex-RGPS girl chose NUSH instead of RGS. Based on last year statistics, 30 COs from DSA were not taken up.

Believe that if they are selected after the paper and camp tests (from the 1000s that applied for DSA), they shd be able to adjust well. No worries!

            Hi

At the end of the 6-yr programme, students will graduate with a NUSH diploma, with no ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level certs at all, am I right?

What are the student’s options if, under extreme unforeseen circumstances, the child performs badly and is not awarded with a diploma. How will the school help the child? Can he take ‘A’ level then?

Thanks in advance for some advice.

If the child is talented in Math n Sc, he/she can definitely cope & do well in NUSH. As the ratio of students to teachers is lower than other schools, the teachers can better take care of the students. The teachers are even readily to hv 1:1 makeup if students are absent.

I have question wrt public transport.

Right now, the only way I know is to take bus #183 at the bus stop at Clementi Station ( opposite Clementi mall ) and alight three stops later along Clementi road and walk abt 250m (after crossing overhead bridge) to get to the Sch.
                Any other way? TIA.
There are 2 bus stops (along AYE & off Clementi Road) just seconds out the back gate of NUSH other than the bus stop along Clementi Road. hv buses to Habour Front mrt, Buona Vista or fr Clementi mrts etc.

understand that the paths to the 2 bus stops are all sheltered.

                    Hi,
For those get into IP sch other than NUSH then hv to worry what if they fail or not do well in their A level exam after 6 yrs. For NUSH, the marks fr Y3 to Y6 contribute to the total score in the NUSH diploma, not only the final exam in Y6. Hence, students are less stressful in Y6 compared to other IP schools' students. That why I prefer mine to get into NUSH as the sys ensures they work consistently thr'out 6 yrs & prevent 'last-min studying'.

Think so but is the back door open all the time ?
Tried to enter thru it during the open house but it was locked.

All students & staff can access the back door with a card.
