Hi my daughter just received the confirmed offer letter for Ballet today. I am not very familiar with the school, does anyone have any input/feedback about the school and whether she should accept the offer? She is very passionate about dance but I am not sure if the school is strong academically. Many thanks.

Did you know or find out more about SOTA before you allowed your daughter to attend the TA?

Having a confirmed offer does not mean a child WILL DEFINITELY get in. They have crossed this TA hurdle. The next obstacle is PSLE.


For current Primary 6 students, the provisional offers of admission to SOTA will be confirmed upon the release of the participant’s Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results (candidates need to qualify for the Express Stream based on their PSLE results). Successful participants will receive the Ministry of Education (MOE) Direct School Admission (DSA) posting letter.

I don't think so. The letter i received (on Friday) was dated 5 Aug, so i think some will get theirs on the next working day.

So long as a student qualifies for Express stream, he will be given a place in SOTA. Usually, the COP is set at 200 for most schools. However, I know of students who got a CO from SOTA but scored less than 200 at PSLE. They eventually got a place through appeal.

Hi Jtoh - I thought SOTA’s cut off point is 230?
