Hi traviscindy, reply comes in via snail mail. I just received CO for my DD for theatre arts when I opened my letter box on Friday night.
traviscindy:
will the reply come thru email or snail mail?

aaarrrggghhh…is so nerve wrecking…wondering if not getting reply first means less chance?

I don't think so. The letter i received (on Friday) was dated 5 Aug, so i think some will get theirs on the next working day.

So long as a student qualifies for Express stream, he will be given a place in SOTA. Usually, the COP is set at 200 for most schools. However, I know of students who got a CO from SOTA but scored less than 200 at PSLE. They eventually got a place through appeal.Having a confirmed offer does not mean a child WILL DEFINITELY get in. They have crossed this TA hurdle. The next obstacle is PSLE.
For current Primary 6 students, the provisional offers of admission to SOTA will be confirmed upon the release of the participant's Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results (candidates need to qualify for the Express Stream based on their PSLE results). Successful participants will receive the Ministry of Education (MOE) Direct School Admission (DSA) posting letter. -
Hi Jtoh - I thought SOTA’s cut off point is 230?

You have to read the letter of offer to see what's stated there. If it does not state a specific COP, just that the student has to qualify for Express stream, then 200 is usually the norm for most schools.
I know in recent years SOTA has said in their briefings that 230 is the preferred COP but I'm not sure if it's stated in the letter of offer.
Maybe parents who've received COs this year can confirm if a COP of 230 is stated in there.
The students I know who did not qualify for SOTA based on their PSLE scores despite getting COs are now in SOTA Year 2 and Year 4. -
You are right… checked the offer letter and they did not indicate the COP. I am not sure where I get the 230 from - perhaps I am mistaken but thought I did hear/read somewhere that’s the COP…
Thanks anyway. Cheers. -
The principal mentioned 230 during the open symposium.

yes carmen is right ; 230 is the number but I do remember she mentioned is the average -- 230.
anyway, hope everyone got what they want. CO/WL .......
