can i know what is berries readers? is it a book? thanks.

yes. berries 'readers' are books that are based on Berries preschool curriculum, but up to P1. after P1, they will have to purchase selected story books. that is my ds1's time, so not sure about now.

My daughter has been with Berries in Bishan since the start of K2, she is now in P1. We have found it to be very good so far. For the lower levels, a lot of it is play-based; the younger ones always seem to go home with something they have made or coloured. They use things like dolls, toy cars, dolls houses etc to teach them vocabulary. It seems to have become more serious this year -my daughter complained that they don’t watch cartoons any more! - but they still play games as part of the class. They only give a small amount of homework but they do expect the children to review the content at home - which is the tough part with my daughter.

What about Chinese classes conducted at RC and CC?

I sent dd2 to a nearby RC last year when she was in k2. She joined 3 other p1 kids. I withdrawn her after they completed hanyu pinyin since my intention was to prep her for hanyu pinyin only. Fees around $60/mth.

She’s p1 this year. Started her on creative writing last month at nearby CC. CC goes by block of 8 lessons, fees around $100 but class size is much much bigger than RC’s.

I like RC & CC’s flexibility. No registration fee. No deposit. No need to give advance notice for withdrawal. Can skip level.

I like Berries for their pre-sch chinese curriculum. I believe that is their forte. Not so as the kid goes fr lower pri to upper pri. this can be seen in the great reduction in the number of classes for their upp pri classes.
