This year both ACJS and ACPS needs balloting for <1km. I am not too sure about last year.

Really? Oh No... then what should I do if no luck? Any other school nearby...? I think I need to do more reseach lar....

Yep it is true. Refer to the link http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/balloting/ on schools that need to ballot for phase 2C.

Do your research wisely yeah and come out with alternative plans.

Between the 2, ACJS generally have more vacancy than ACPS after phase 2A. Reason being there are more old boys at ACPS. Also ACJS can take in more Pri 1 because of its larger premises.

Normally you will see parents jumping from ACS to SJIJ or vice versa

        hello parents!

One more year to go. To those like me doing PV, enjoy your time there and take it as community work in case there's balloting and you don't get it. To those going for the other phases, all the best! As for me and my household, we will be doing something like this...

HEHEHEHE! So cute! I also need to pray....hopefully no new policy kick in for phase 2A. Otherwise I am going to :stupid:

                hi laughingcat,

your son going P1 in 2013 ... akan datang.
                should be safe.
change don't come so soon in 2013.

Well, we may never know for sure. When policy kicks in, no one can do anything about it.

It is entirely not true that alumni parents are not doing anything. I have contributed in my ways as an alumni way before my child was even born. Each year, I contributed close to 200hrs based on the fact that I feel belong to my own school.

I think I need to seriously discuss with my DH what can we do to up our chance should there be balloting for phase 2A.

I totally agreed with you. Old boys/ girls had contributed their parts to the school. They had donated their times and money to build up the school. Without the hard works put in by the principals, teachers and old students, would you think the school will raise to its popularity at this stage? TN, NH and AT would not be as popular as now if the results of the schools are as same as any neighbourhood schools. These schools have build up their standard progressively throughout the years.

                  hi laughingcat,

are you thinking of relocation - nearer to NYPS or ACS ?

long Term may be wise, bec number of good schools around Dunearn road. NUS campus, polytechnic located around there.

No lah, can’t think that far. Can only consider up to Pri school. After brief discussion with DH, most likely will relocate nearer to ACS. Not worth to spend so much just to relocate nearer to NYPS. As we need to consider our old age too. After all, boys tend to "value" wife more than mummy.
