Keen to register but hopefully no need to go thru balloting again. No guts to sit thru another round.AZ020970:
Yumin is my next option. Not so sure about this school. Anybody heard anything about this school?
My friend DS study at Yumin. She said the school is not bad. And becos it was just located beside Chongzheng (which is super popular), Yumin tend to be the 2nd choice for most parents. And the school wear black shoe, it good for working mum like us, no need to wash the shoe everyweek heheheheh
And if i not wrong, vacancy for phase 2C supplementary left with 50.
Can you pl help me find out from your friend how is the environment like? And is it very academic? Thanks.
My fren said the school is ok. Her son seem to like that school. Last year she also go thru balloting at Chongzheng, but cannot get the place. And she worried tat Yumin too need balloting. Same case like yours. You go to MOE website and compare TN and Yumin and decide which is best for your child. -
I think I must backup plan C. Better not tell my ds too much. He was disappointed that he didn’t get in gs. My dh talked to him this morning.

Hi Susan,
I think i have to agree with Chloecube, you should try TN first. When i browse thru MOE website, TN have a few achievement compare to Yumin. Try bring your DS to this 2 school. See which one he likes.
I told my DD that she got in to Tampines Pri, and you know what she told me, \"i dont want that school, i want to go to all girls' school\"... I like... OMG, children nowadays, want to decide for themself... LOL. -

:snuggles: can sense his disappointment..tell him, he will be going into a better school!
Susan, like what AZ020970 had suggested, bring him to these 2 schools, let him see and feel the environment before making a decision.
actually that is what i did to my DS 4 yrs ago.
sorry i cant comment much abt YM , but TN i heard from some of the \"aunties\" at the salon near my house ..
(me also aunty) , they commented TN is improving and one of them had their DD in there, she said TN is a good school. perhaps you may want to consider

Till today my son was still asking why he never get into Gongshang. Actually after digging deeper it was because he wanted to go into badminton.yap_susan:

I am apprehensive about bringing him to view the schools. He went with me to Gongshang when P1 seminar was held there. He loved the school! I am ok with TN but it is far. Also considering griffiths primary. Last year their top student scored 285! Maybe back up plan C.
So I may just be the domineering mother and decide for him. Hard to be a parent. :frustrated: -

Which block are you staying. Seem that you have quite a lot of school which is nearby your area. Never heard much about Griffiths Primary. It good to have a few school in mind for backup plan. I stayed at block 100 Plus. Have two good school within 1km, St hilda's and Tamp Pri. I have a urge to try St Hilda's, and backup plan Tamp Pri. But thank god, i never pursue to my \"Urge\" and try St Hilda's first, if not, i end up losing both St Hilda's and Tamp Pri. Because Tamp pri also go thru balloting for this year.
Being parent now it not like being parent when our parents time...

You are right. I stay near Tampines blk 201 market area.
Also thinking of giving TN a try if yumin fails.
Maybe call yumin before closing time aon Friday to determine the numbers, if need to ballot, then consider another. Still thinking of what to do.
May this be over soon. -
