A question for all mummies....hv u ever regretted to become SAHM?

i am very happy being a sahm as long as i don't look at my bank statement. 😓

      well-said :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
I have no regrets being a SAHM...as long as I still have a growing private nest and money to spend each month...WITHOUT hubby growling end of the month.

I have never regreted being a SAHM too. I don’t miss the office politics and back-stabbing. But I do miss the financial independence and intellectual interactions with colleagues and work associates. But there is always a price to pay for everything in life…

          Agree totally 🙂

Now that we are on single income, personally, I would considered myself lucky that I dun have to really account for every single cent spent. Remembered the days when my MIL would hound me over my purchases, nagging over 10-50cents difference  Fortunately DH assured me that time efficiency and convenience would be of higher priority, just spend wisely :boogie: So after 1+ year, MIL gave up asking me how much per KG, is it cheaper than where and where etc  cos my answer is always DUNNO 😉

DH is also quite ‘relaxed’ with money. He would rather pay more for convenience and would grumble whenever I suggest that we can go to a further but cheaper supermarket to buy stuff. I’m learning from him…it’s true, so what if I save $1? By the time I account for the petrol, parking, time, headache trying to gather my three kids, I think I’ll just gladly spend that extra $1…

Sometimes, it's just not possible to save on the few cents. Which is why hubby would rather we go IMM (3 hours free parking) than to go Bukit Panjang or Bukit Timah Plaza for grocery shopping...more petrol used to go to NTUC, time and looking for parking lot.

Ya agreed. Previously, we don't purchase milk powder n diapers fr provision shop, only get it fr cold storage or NTUC for my dd1. Ever since we hv dd2 n I became SAHM, we changed our thought.

DH's supportive is very important. I used to receive comments fr friends tat not everyone is able to forgo their jobs n become SAHM. There r ppls out there might need to struggle to make end meet. They keep commenting tat I am lucky...sometimes I do appreciate my hb even he didn't really lay his finger on housework.

As I type this....a little :gloomy: a little :rahrah:

Had hired a maid to look after my FIL ~1year ago.....with her presence, there's help in household chores esp. cooking which I find I'm lousy at and it's also very time-consuming 😓 Tho I had gone maidless for 3 years before the current one, kinda got used and enjoyed the additional help 😉 However, due to FIL's illness, we will probably not require her services in 1-3 months' time..........so gotta do everything myself again :gloomy:

On the bright side, I can now do things my way (well, maids are always an issue and normally cannot follow instructions well enough) and I do look forward to enjoying my privacy again. Soon I'll have 2 sets of problem less.......

Yes, my mum always reminds me to appreciate hubby for bringing home the bacon by HIMSELF. It’s a tough world in the office facing the boss and colleagues (plus office politics). I can’t imagine going out to work again after being a SAHM for the past 11 years…maybe can’t even fit in at all. This ‘dinosaur’ better be put in the museum.
