        jims:
        Hi everyone,

My place is along YCK road and I intend to have my 2 year old gal join a half day or 3 hour playgroup.

Some names that I have come across:

        a. Kinderland YCK
        b. YCK Chapel Kindergarden
        c. Carpe Diem YCK

        Any feedback is appreciated.

OR any recommendations, along YCK road (AMK/Selatar side) or Upper Thomson Road?
        Thank you v much.
        Hi jims,

Besides there above, there is also Learning Vision @ Grassroots club at the Grassroot Club which is just next to Yio Chu Kang MRT.

Another preschool I would recommend would be Chatsworth Kindergarten @ 1-4 Picadilly Circus. However, they only have classes from Nursery (they call in Pre-K) for child turning 4 years old onwards.

I understand Carpe Diem YCK is full and there is a waiting list. You may wish to start by calling the above centres and ask about vacancies first. Then go visit.

          Hi DesertWind,

Tks for inputs. I will consider my options. Am thinking of just enrichment classes for the time being…and be a SAHM 🙂

Hi, I am looking for cc for my k1 boy next year. I have shortlisted the following:

              1) Red schoolbus
              2) pat’s schoolhouse @ buckley (wic at the moment is full and he has to be on waitlist)

Does anyone have experience with these? Which other would u recommend ?

I have an older girl who benefitted tremendously from her pre-school which emphasizes daily diary writing since k1. Is there any cc that does that these days?

              Many thks for your advice.

My wife and I finally found a preschool we like for our only son at Cherie Hearts Nurtureloft at the new Midview City. My DS is 2y 8m. Do you all send your kids to school based on their age or calendar year (to tie in with MOE calendars)?

We were originally planning to enrol DS come Jan 2012. But the school has an early bird promo of 20% discount for 12 months! Confused….

if you send your child to Child care centre (ccc), ccc are regulated by MCYS, so go by calendar MONTH.

if you send your child to kindergarten regulated by MOE, they go by calendar YEAR - the year the child born in, don't care the month.

Many thanks for the advice! We are registering DS as my wife likes the spacious and very clean environment. The school had in a huge indoor playground and activity area where my son had a whale of a time during the open house. Hopefully he will begin to learn more things in his playgroup.
