All my DDs are in NAFA art too, they like it a lot too hence I really do not know where to cut down. Do you think it is worth to continue or the art lesson in school is sufficient?

I heard NAFA music is very stressful, do 2 grades in a year, which I think I can't cope to go through with my gal hehe mine is taking from pte teacher too.

Already withdrawn her from Nafa music. Too time consuming. Now taking lessons with a private teacher. She's still taking arts in Nafa although my dd1 complained about dd2 having no talent in arts, her art work is so sloppy :rotflmao:

Sometime I really feel time is so limited, yet so much to do & learn.

Actually there's quite a lot, she is attending English, Maths, chinese for the academic ones. Non academic are art, ballet, swimming & piano. I m in a dilemma on which one to give up. she seems to enjoy all the classes.
Where is your dd taking English/Maths/Chinese?
Wow, really seems like a lot. Maybe can drop one of the academic (whichever your dd is strongest in) and 2 of the non academic classes?

Before my dd1 started P1, I insisted she dropped Kumon. I doubt she would time to do that many worksheets everyday. She resisted my suggestion then but now she agreed with me it was a good decision afterall. My dd1 is the kind who likes to take on many many things (everything she would say she likes) so I've to make the decision for her.
My dd2 is the opposite from dd1. She knows exactly what she wants & how much time she has to spare so she doesn't over commit herself. In fact she has been negotiating with me to drop English enrichment but I insisted she must continue šŸ˜‰

My dd is still progressing at that pace. Hence, not necessarily must be in Nafa

Both my girls enjoy their art classes. Not learning a lot of drawing techniques since mostly craft work but it's good fun la. They're not aspiring artists so it's fine with me

hehe I guess your DD is doing well in her piano, I heard of some got NAFA teachers to teach them privately too at the same pace.

Yes I agree too for the art lesson, hence I have to decide what has to cut. šŸ™‚

They only have 2 non-academic ones, which will stay as well. This is because for the non-academic ones, one is long term investment, the other is till P1/P2 purpose.

Hi, just curious, what are those non academic classes?

                    Hi,

The non-academic classes are speech and drama and music. The music is the long term one, it's more to \"nourish\" their \"artistic soul\". I'm not intending to use it for DSA. I believe in a person's life, there's a need for art/arts.

Speech and drama, it's more to help them in presentation work. So that will stop latest by P3. I like their speech and drama teacher but too bad he does not take in primary school kids, only kindy and IB students.

I send my girls to speech & drama too. No exam, just to give them opportunity to speak up as they're quite self conscious, you know the paiseh paiseh type šŸ˜‚

I've yet to seriously think of DSA. Didn't know can use music for DSA. Somehow I've the impression that since so many kids are taking music lessons nowsaday, music is no longer that highly valued as a form Ꝑč‰ŗ. Perhaps Maths Olympiad would stand a better chance at DSA šŸ˜‰
