Strange to praise God in such a situation. If God was kind to your friend, he must have been very \"unkind\" to the others who did not get in. Sorry, can't resist ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, congrats to everyone who got in and those who did not, never mind. Not much difference in primary level, there is still the more important secondary level to shoot for.

      Cheers!

God has a plan for everyone. He knows what's best for every child. There is no good or bad school, but a right match.

      Well said! Totally agree!

My girl is very picky about her school school and would only wear \"feminine style\" shoes. Like those mary janes style. Hard to find and those are pvc coated and can easily wipe down with a wet cloth.

mine too... try bata they bring in some this time round.

It's not about 'easy' or not. Ideally, the GEP programme is for the academically gifted or very high ability kids. Studies have shown that in any population, about 1% or so would be gifted. So the GEP programme should be for these naturally gifted (or in Singapore's case, very high ability students). Unfortunately, many kiasu parents want a share of the pie, believing that their kids can be trained to be gifted. And so the 'training centres' earn lots of money, the kids suffer at the expense of their parents' bragging rights, and the GEP programme suffers the wrath of parents whose kids didn't make it.

                    jtoh,

you are spot on! ... very sad for some of those kids, barely know how to stand straight (read: less than 1 year old), and are already being enrolled into all kind of 'gifted' enrichment lessons ...
