DH proposed at Telok Blangah hill top after a meal at Alkaff mansion. He kneel down and gave me a ruby diamond ring.
I was not prepared at all and vomitted instead. :rotflmao: :rotflmao: I was nervous lah. -
We belong to the marathon type, started quite young.........so for 9 long years, DH kept quiet....I was getting a little worried cos' at same age, woman age faster
. He ignored my hints......
One night, while at a sports game, I fell and sprained my ankle. He ran over, scooped me up and said \"Let's start looking for hotel, book for wedding dinner\".
Got moonlight, got star, got swollen ring at ankle and full of perspiration.
No flowers, no romantic dinner, no rock. But that's him, practical fella

maybe when you fell, he had a sudden fear of loosing you and \"woken\" up.

I knew my hb after I ended 9 yrs relationship with my ex who was my first love. He had hard time of pursuing me as I hv totally lost confidence in men n no intention of involving myself in marriage topic again which I did with my ex bf. However, I was touched by his sincerity n patience toward me.
One day, I was happened to pass a casual remark regarding the design of one Tiffany diamond ring tat I saw in a magazine. Two days later, he bought a tiffany ring but not the design in the maz cos too ex n hid it in his car. He asked me to open one of the drawer n I found the ring. Then he popped the question to ask me to marry him. This was the only romantic moment we hd after our 10 yrs of marriage.

DH proposed to me at the airport after I returned from a two week work trip overseas. Quite unglam. I was smelly and wearing my track pants and comfy t-shirt from the long flight. While I was away, he was thinking about proposing, but he didnβt actually plan to propose on that day coz we were meeting a bunch of friends at the airport for lunch after my flight (I didnβt know we had lunch plans, or Iβd at least have worn something more presentable). But he made up his mind during lunch and got all my friends to scram. Then, he brought me to the viewing gallery, got down on his knees in front of me and a few other puzzled looking aunties and kids, and popped the question. I never ever thought he would get on his knees, so that was quite something. I was a bit embarrassed coz all the kay-po aunties were staring, so I went down on my knees too!

smiling all the way as i read all about the marriage proposal KSP experienced & shared, thanks tankee for posting this as it is good to relive those moments once in a while

DH and I have been together for 9 yrs before we got married, been through his NS, overseas studies (long term relationship), and so on. actually it was a natural progression to get married. already booked the wedding banquet & i did not expect him to propose or do anything cause i am a practical woman. Why need to propose when already booked wedding date and banquet? hehe. knew he had been wanting to give me diamond ring cause he had been asking his mum to look out for him but i had warned him sternly I do not want any diamond cause I am not those gals that fancies diamonds at all.
nevertheleless, he booked a room in Shangri la Sentosa to spend X'mas together. As we were soaking in the bubble bath, I was talking non stop but he was especially quiet and I felt kinda of strange. All a sudden he kissed me, & popped a 1 carat diamond ring into my mouth. I was totally caught by surprise and of course moved to tears...hehe -
I love reading all your proposal stories. Mine was not that romantic. He already hinted about getting a flat so I knew. But on the actual proposal day, he asked me if I wanted a coke when I went to his place. I said no as I was not thirsty and he kept saying maybe I would want one later, in the end to stop him from βbuggingβ me, i agreed, when I drank the coke, at the bottom of the glass was an ice-cube. I realized there was something in the ice-cube and when I took it out, there was a diamond ring inside. I kept laughing and asked him what if I just refused to have any drink but I was also touched that he bothered to plan a nice proposal and take me out for a nice dinner after that.
