If ever have it before orientation, it should be by post. Maybe other parents can comment on this aspect as I try to dig my brain, but still can't remember if it was before or on orientation day. In any case, I don't feel that was a problem or very last minute so it must be ok lah. So just wait and see how it turns out. Cheers!
Hi Timtim, thanks for yr info. Did u receive the booklist by post or the school will inform u to correct fr them?ectanz:

I thought the booklist was given before orientation. Anyway, you will be given few days to buy, not just on that day. Also, it's not at the tiny bookshop. They will setup at another place along the corridor, somewhere near the classroom where the uniform vendor sells uniforms, to allow parents to buy books. The area is more spacious and not so cramp. The book vendor already pre-packed everything (according to P1 booklist) into a neat box. If you have nothing to add/remove, just pay, take and go. It's pretty straightforward. For me, I ask them to remove the Pic Dict, which was not required by school.
You may also order your textbook from the vendor online and collect another day. You will be given instructions to do so.
If I recall correctly, last year the book list we only got on the orientation day. That's because my Hubby and I forgot to bring extra $$$ to pay for books, uniform, shoes etc etc... We were digging into wallets to empty out whatever dollar notes we had.. in the end we opted to go for the book ordering online and pay for a delivery fee to have the books sent to the home.. saves us a lot of hassle on collecting the books.. just need to be careful to select correct school online as the bookshop company services many schools. -

For LIFE, you will need separate transportation to bring your kid to NCPS. They don't bring them to/from NCPS. That's the main reason I choose Polaris.shalomy:
Please advise with your valuable feedbacks on student care centres.
I am really in a big confusion about choosing between LIFE & POLARIS. :? :?
Thank you very much timtim! I was really not aware of that. Is there any limitations on intake for POLARIS?
You got to decide pretty fast as their class filled up quite fast. This yr they have 2 P1 classes (only 1 in the past). Not sure if they will have 2 next yr too. You need to call them (Tel 68810616 - Centre Mgr is Ms Chin) to find out more, but now may be too early for them to finalise. I remember last yr only in Nov/Dec that they opens the 2nd class due to overwhelming response.

They will be serving 1 packet drink (Ribena, Milo etc) and a cake/bun.
Hi b2b3m4, can u recall wat food does the canteen vendor normally serve on the first wk? My dd1 is a fussy eater. I am contemplating on whether to make sandwich for her to bring on the first wk but also want her to join in with the rest. Really in dilemma.
No opt out option. I prepared food for DD but she still came back with these food and i was made to pay later of the week. -

Will there be any familiarization tour in the first day?
I am concerned whether my dd1 is able to go toilet herself during the first wk due to new environment. Although she is fully trained in her ccc to manage herself when gg to toilet but the toilet was built within their Childcare compound.
I am not sure whether the school will hv short interval during lesson for the kids to go toilet. -

I think there's tour of the place (where is classroom, toilets etc) for the kids during orientation day when the respective form teacher leads them away while parents stay to hear principal talk and watch performance. During the 1st week, the teacher will also designate interval during lessons for all children to go toilet. After initial phase, they are suppose to learn to ask for permission to go toilet at their own time. Will there be any familiarization tour in the first day?
