Tinkerbelle:
I must admit she seldom used the 2nd pair which is more for backup purpose. Hehe, it's useful for rainy season only but guess I can save up for my DD2.
Hi LLX04,
It's amazing how much every thing costs after you add all the items together huh.... :moneyflies:
You bought 2 pairs of shoes?? Did you end up using them? -
michyms:
Initially, she was excited about the power of buying food in canteen but these days, she always asked for packed food for recess cos she is too lazy to queue , more time to play with her friends or go bookshop to shopping.
Yeah, it really does add up!
Tinkerbelle, your girl brings her lunch to school? I wonder if its necessary to get those ergonomic kind of school bag. But that's really super expensive!
-
michyms:
Yes yes, we are using my pals are here series for maths for p1 this year.
Gin, I'm not entirely sure for MCS though I know many other schools use the Pals textbook.Gin:
Hi michyms,
Do you know if the P1s are using My Pals Are Here Maths for MCS? A friend would like to pass her son's P1 textbooks to me. Am wondering if I should have them. Don't want to keep too many books around.
Tks for info.
Can the P1 mummies tell us which textbooks MCS uses? -
LLX04:
Packed food is definitely better, healthier and saves money

Wow, that's alot more than when I was in school, only 30-50cents back then. Talk about inflation :faint: -
Miffy, if you don't mind sharing, the kpo me would like to know why did u choose MCS and where & why did u transfer your gal from. Thanks

ohdaddy:
P6? ahhhh It's prelims now I presume and PSLE just around the corner? How are thigns going? Stressful I presume.
Hi ohdaddy,
Yes....a super busy time for DD1 now. PSLE Oral next Thurs & Fri, followed by Prelims the following week. Quite a juggling act...but things are still under control. Not at this stage yet.... :frustrated: :stompfeet: ...haha -
Gin:
Hi Gin,Hi michyms and Tinkerbelle,
Tks for asking, our DD2 is doing fine now, she is a little impatient to get off 'soft diet' and she is active and speaking much more now (after the 1st two days of not speaking much :)). She's got a few more days of anti-biotics to finish. Generally doing fine. She is enjoying the ice-cream sessions :), at least 3 times a day :). She says she does not feel any pain anymore, which is good. However, we still keep her indoors to avoid her catching a cough or cold from crowded places. A cough or a cold may cause the operative site to bleed. She understands that, so she is fine with that.
I have called up MCS and was told that we will only get to know in about October or November if our DD2 is exempted from MT.
Have a nice day!
Great to hear your DD2 is enjoying her ice-cream sessions and is on the road to recovery. Ya, can understand why she wants to get off the \"soft diet\"...keke....must be bland+++. Take care.
Good luck with the application for MT exemption. Hope you get some good news to share with us then.... :xedfingers: -

Ya, both DDs bring lunch to sch as they find that it's too time consuming to queue for food. They would rather eat quickly then play with their friends or go shopping at the bookshop. Only half an hour for recess so the gals must fully utilise this time to socialise....
BTW....there's a sale for all SPI bags at Kinderfun till this Sunday (14/8/11). All SPI bags have a $46 discount. Usual price, depending on designs, varies from $80-$150 before discount. However, there's limited stock so if you're interested, can drop in at their outlets in United Squre or Centrepoint this weeekend to check it out.
It's not necessary to get ergonomic bags but many gals do use them. It's really a personal choice. Both DDs have used SPI bags over the years and they are nicely padded & very durable. DD1's bag in P1 lasted her for 3 years and we only changed it because the picture was too childish for her by the time she went to P4.
Some gals do use trolley bags but might not be advisable for P1 as they'll have to carry their bags up and down the stairs everyday for assesmbly in the hall before sch starts. Just my 2cents worth.
