Luanne , Yr teacher seems fierce, nah, I would say shes more on the lound side and fierce to the point of instilling fear into children. There are many firm teachers who are well liked n still approachable. Most teachers follow up to p2 but not so true with my grls class last yr

Based on statistics provided by the school, most of the girls go to Crescent and St Margarets. Very few actually end up at SCGS although some applied, because of the high cut off point.

Ya, heard the cut off point is gettin higher each yr for SCGS

Haha but she doesnt have the physical staques of Mrs Seah, who can tower over all of us.

Btw anyone know if the school is having half day or combine day on Monday for Teachers' Day celebration like National Day? Or would school hours be as usual? Didnt receive any letter about it, but my girl told me she would be performing as part of the choir on Monday's celebration

Does anyone know what it takes to achieve 255 thereabouts in PSLE ? Are we talking about consistent result of around 85 in each subject at RGPS P5 SA1/2 and P6 SA1 tests? Or are we looking at 90+?

Hi Poonie,

If the girl is doing 85/subject at P5 then it is very likely that she’ll improve in P6 if she continues to work hard. 90+ for RGPS SA1/Prelim is likely to see her scoring 260+/270+ for PSLE. This is based purely on my observation when my older girl took PSLE.

My guess is that if she scores around 85~88 ave for Prelims with Maths/Science being the stronger subjects, then 255 or PSLE should not be a problem.

Just look at the national stats for PSLE results for the past few yrs and you’ll find the lowest figures for pass rates and % of As and A*s are for maths, followed by science. The ave rates for English, is not very far away, though.

Therefore, the greater difference between the child’s score and the average score, the higher will be the T-score. That’s the reason if the child is strong at Maths & Science, it will be a plus point.

The girls from the mainstream(6E at least) in 2007 did better in PSLE as compared to SA1/Prelims.
