Hi Charmaine_chong,
I’m interested to attend, but is there any obligation to purchase ? what is the "gadzet" which costs $150 ?
i can make it on either 4 or 7 sep. Do i need to attend both sessions, or just one of them ?
Thanks for organizing this ! -
Hi, I’m interested, and am ok with either dates provided there is no obligation to purchase. Thanks.

The gadget provides the correct pronunciation when it goes over the text. I guess this item should be optional if you can help with the pronunciaiton.Hi Charmaine_chong,

Hi mummies,
Thank you for your interest.
No obligation to buy the materials. In fact, you can buy the books straight from the school without attending the orientation.
I request for it as i would like to understand their way of teaching and to make full use of the materials.
I spoke to Mr Lee who is very helpful.
Aside the 2 books, they use other materials, eg: newspaper, tang poems.... to reinforce its teaching (not availble for public).
The gadzet is to learn the pronounciation. Pardon me, I am not sure how it works.
I am just like you guys, wanting to learn more. Lets find out on 07 Sep 09.
I came to know about this method of teaching when i was searching materials to teach my son couple of weeks ago. This was the the first website i learned. It is from China and the books are expensive.
The link as follows.

It has another website in china, i have forgotten its web.
I learned from another forum, a mommy from M'sia claimed that her child master 4000 words within a short period. Not sure 6 months or 1 year.
Do let me know if anyone out there is still interested, i will arrange with the school.
Will update everyone asap. -
Thks for organising… Count me in too, 7 Sep.
-
Thanks for arranging. I would be keen to join on 7 Sept to find out more.

I personally feel that one way for children to master speaking Mandarin is to first watch lots of Chinese children drama series. Can anyone recommend any titles? I am not referring to cartoon but dramas series by real life actors.
-
My kids and i recently got hooked on taiwan drama 爱
Though it's not a children's show, the contents are actually quite healthy and the chinese spoken are proper and good -- unlike local dramas. Even my K2 dd can understand the plot. I also find the pace of this show just right, not too fast like HK dramas.
Dramas like 大长今 also good for kids, except young kids may find it difficult to understand due to the traditional korean setting -
Dear Mummies,
I called the school again after gotten good responses.
I am regret that the school decided not to sell the resources to public. The orientation is cancelled. They have their concerned.
Mummies, you may look for alternatives.
I found out that Yuquan does has the 4000 chinese words which using this approach.
