Pardon my ignorance, so it has to be 21 yrs old for renouncement and cannot be earlier?
yes, must be above 21, to be capable of adult decisionverykiasu2010:
why can't she renounce it now?
not yet 21 y/o
parents cannot denounce on her behalf
that is why she has dual citizenship now ..... allowed up to 21st birthday
similarly for the PR boys doing NS = they can only denounce after they reached 21
so don't accuse them of 'want the best of both world', 'insincere', etc....by operation of law, they can't prove their patriotism -
verykiasu2010:
One FT out of the 4 ...heng 75%..... :idea:3Boys:

she has to throw one upon reaching 21, by law
I don't regard her a FT since she has been here since 4
it is just like some singaporeans holding US / OZ / etc citizenship as well, before reaching 21, because they happen to be born overseas -

okie okie, thanks for the clarification.

She may eventually become a FT if she chose C
instead of SG.........but she will have to keep SG as
she is serving her scholarship pass 21?? ................
she got a window to decide?? :scratchhead: -

upon reaching 21, must renounce one citizenship
if she renounces SG citizenship, the scholarship will be terminated immediately, and I believe there is LD to be paid too -

Our forefathers had an easier time then when they arrived in Sg. Not so much FT vs locals issues :rotflmao: -
So she’s a Singapore PR and a Chinese Citizen? She can’t be a Singapore Citizen too can she?
