      Hi e3nity,

The title of the phonics set is called ' hooked on phonics'.. They have kindergarten series, grade 1 and grade 2 series... One set(series) cost about $110+ and I bought it abt 4 yrs ago at kinokuniya.. It consist of flash cards, CDs, workbook and simple story books... I find it very effective but of course got to follow their program seriously... To me, going through the kindergarten series is good enough to set a good phonics foundation... But don't know u are able to get it now or not since I bought 4 yrs ago 😉
      Hi vlim,
Thanks.. i'll call the store up to check.. gosh.. its really drilling him too late.. :stupid:

You are welcome e3nity 😉 ... If u start teaching him now .. Should be still not too late. Another important thing to do is to bring him to library more often so as to make him love reading which I is very important. Nevertheless, at the same time u can still look out for good enrichment school if u want to.. 😄 .. If you are keen with the phonics set, you can request kinokuniya to order for you .. (and provided they still have it oversea)..

My boy will be P1 next year. He is currently with \"I Can Read\" but I feel this school is more suitable for pre-schoolers. I'm looking for others more suitable for primary school children. Not keen about Kumon. How about Morris Allen or Mindstretcher? Any other recommendation?

                Hi sksk!
There is a discussion over at this thread and Mummy phtthp has a list of recommendations:-

Is Lorna Whiston the only place with native teachers? I'm keen to help my son improve on writing but I also want him to continue learning English the proper way, not just good enough for good grades but to be really good at the language. I've read some model essays locally that are filled with 'chim' vocab and sentences but as a whole they are so boring and lacking in style.

Nope. LCentral Novena is one of the Place with native teacher too.
My daughter went to LCentral Novena for Foundation base for 3months and her pronunciation is getting better than before.
For my own opinion ii would recommended you to enroll your child to LCentral Novena if your child age is around 3- 12years. They will actually give your child a test to see which level they're suitable in.
My girl was being tasted to start from the lowest on Foundation base first. But now she have been upgrade to Launchpad.
You can enroll you child at LCentral Novena.

                      Any comment?
