There is a separate thread on RGS vs NYGH in this forum. I am an ex-RGS/RJC mummy. DD went for both RGS & NYGH open house last year. DH & DD didn't like the RGS talk (too much emphasis on excellence but little to no emphasis on character dev & values). I was more partial to Rafflesian heritage of course. Anyway DD eventually didn't apply for RGS & is very happy now in NYGH. I have met the principal during the interview. Mdm Heng is direct, firm, very balanced in her views & comments, yet warm & puts both DD & I at ease. What I like in particular is she didn't put down other schools, but let the facts speak for themselves. DD has been in NYGH for almost a year. Absolutely no regrets ...and that's coming from a true-blue Rafflesian.....

hi-five to u too, gleemom...... πŸ˜„
we shared the same sentiments of how we felt abt the talk....

u mean u have a dd in NYGH ? thought you dd in DHS ? sorry i very kaypoh
it's ok......i know u are KP and KS..... πŸ˜‰
no lah.....i only have 1 gal..... πŸ˜„
what i meant above was the talk by R and not referring to the talk by N.

oh yes...talking abt Nygh, u know what.... πŸ˜‰
i almost wanna to change my mind to put it as 1 st choice..... the last few mins b4 3 o'clock closing time......

but seriously considering the logistics issues,
fetching up and down 4 trips a day.......
and personally drove up to see for myself the jam at the exit of PIE..... :frustrated: :faint:
no courage to make the change...... πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‚

was introduced to ks parents by a friend only recently. if i have read all the valuable posts in this forum a year earlier (ie, when ds was in p5), maybe i would have done more for ds. we didnt send ds for any tuition classes though ds didnt do too well in p4 (he moved from a neighbourhood school to a gep school). ds improved very slightly in p5. thank god, ds suddenly 'kai qiao' in p6 and did quite well in sa1 (>80%) and got a CO from RI last week.

ds2 is in p3 but vey playful and not focussed. i cannot take for granted that everything will fall into place when ds2 is in p6 in 3 years' time (like in gor-gor's case). must start preparing ds2 for psle early (sounds kiasu?).
btw.. vlim, verykiasu2010, pen88n, do you know each other or have you met each other? you all chat like you have known each other for a long time πŸ™‚ πŸ˜›

ds' dream school has always been RI (his daddy's alma mater mah) so ds double-confirm will choose RI as his first choice.
like vlim, i'm still waiting for HCI's results. but to ds, dsa is over, with RI's CO πŸ˜‚
