You're right, Dharma, you are the real teacher. I'm impressed with how in touch you are with her syllabus and curriculum and how involved you are.

We didnt prepare any Teachers’ Day presents at all, just followed the principal’s letter strictly! Hee…

Dharma:
Hi turquoise,
I am a \"tea strainer\". So,I just stick to guiding her a bit in maths & physical science. The rest are handled by my wife who is a \"swan\".
Your girls are very lucky.

Dharma:
The \"swan\" as in glide on the surface but paddling madly under the water surface? :celebrate: Apt analogy.

Wonderful parents, nonetheless. -

Hi moonee
Looks like present P quite ambitious and driven. Poor teachers. Previous one seldom stressed out the teachers. Stress usually passed on to parents.
Hi Dharma, I noticed the confusion here, My grl is now in P3. I was quoting about remedials that my girl had in P1 and P2, that was in 2007 and 2008.. sorry if I didnt make myself clear. -
Luanee:
Someone posted in another thread that there was an article in ST's forum page on Sat that a P3 teacher in RGPS punished the girls by pulling their hair, tweaking their ears, and hitting their heads with their Math books? Did anyone read that article? Is it common in the school? OMG!!
I read that article , the guy who wrote it is the grandfather of the grl. I wonder why the father of the child did not write it himself. Coward!! worried that his name would be known to associates etc.. 4 girls right? How come the other 3 girls parents did not write to the forum. Apparently it looks like the old man is not satisfied with the warning given to the teacher and it is obvious that what really happened did not warrant a heavier punishment frm the Ps point of view. Its just like those maids I read about ,a touch on the shoulder and they say that thet were hit real hard....Looks like this old man still wants his granddaughter to stay in Raffles and does not like the idea of having that teacher around. Iwould suggest to him to transfer his granddtr out as Im sure all the teachers would know who the grl is by now n would keep a certain distance away and not even reprimand her if she made any mistakes for fear that the parents would bounce on them n write to the STimes again....
I believe that theres two sides to a story. Details were released to the P not to the public. Given the background of the Ps past standing and experience frm MOE, Im sure she had good reasons to believe that the teacher should be given a second chance. I know of another popular school with teachers that wuld close the classroom door before enforcing harsh punishment on their girls. Basically I think its not very nice of the old man to bring up the schools name in the S.T. just bcos he cant get his way. Poor old man, I dnt think he can have a good nites sleep unless he sees the teacher burn in hell!! -
KSP:
Hi KSP, youre so cute  I was wondering when this question is gonna pop up. Well I did work for them but not any more, thats why Im still in a different time zone, ( have been so) for a quite a while now. Honestly, I quite prefer the peace n quiet with everyone asleep so i can be with myself.Hi moonee,
Do you work for Citibank - \"never sleep\" or you are in different time zone? :?
Not too healthy though.

Poonie:
Abit confused! Your child was transfered to RGPS at P4 so the remedial that took place at P1 was back at Hengry Park? What was her CL result then that warrant remedial?
HI POONIE, Sorry I confused you. I was abit sleepy and wanted to complete the post fast. I was quoting my grls past two yrs experience.. Shes been in raffles since day one. Now p3.
Back in P1 she was given a few C/L weekly ting xie and one test. She could never get full marks for tingxie no matter how hard she tried. ....was always one or two wrong, the marking was kind of strict though. My grl was given a test and she obtained 14/16 marks. Thereafter ,the teacher called me n recommended remedial classes twice a week. -
