Do you mean that year end is suitable to go to Phuket, Langkawi or Penang, is it?

Yes.
Hai, me & hubby is planning to bring my 2 kids to Phuket early December this year. Just to get some advise is it suitable to visit Phuket during December & did anyone visit JW Marriot Mai Kao Beach Resort & need comment on this Resort. Thanks

My friend stayed at this resort during the Jun school holiday and had a fantastic time there. The Villa is huge!

I was invited to stay at this resort for 3-4 days too (the offer valid till mid Dec). My hubby & I still cant decide whether to go or not as we are required to attend a 60-90mins presentation in order to enjoy the free stay.
Normally, they hard-sell you package after the ppt (like those time-share projects, except this \"M\" provide all their own resorts).

- is the resort booking schedules flexible? eg can only go during certain months.
- i got their takashimaya $200 or $300 vouchers last time, but have to seat around 1hour plus πŸ™‚

Koh Hong at Krabi ! Lots of fishes at the beach. Checkout my blog:

http://krabiwithkids.blogspot.com/2008/02/koh-hong-island.html

Tigerairways has direct flights to Krabi now, from $5 + $50 Tax.

The islands off Kota Kinabalu, like Sapi Island, also has lots of fishes at the beach.
http://www.mysabah.com/sapi/

But I find the fishes here very \"fierce\". One fish kept knocking its head against my knees and I got hurt ! The fishes at Koh Hong, Krabi are a lot nicer, never bite me or my kids at all. There are also lots of sandflies at the Kota Kinabalu islands, I was badly bitten by the flies. No problem at Krabi.

Koh Hong is really perfect even for very young children. My girl was there when she was 3 years old. The journey on the boat took only about 15 minutes.

Heyya heutistmeintag! We fed the same fishes.. but they didn't seem to

grow any bigger. However word of caution! Some kiddies can get pretty
terrified of the experience at first and need time to warm up. When they
are not ready... and are just placed in the water to just do it... it can
cause adverse reactions. Daddies... watch your marbles.

You've been warned.. :scared:

http://www.postimage.org/

*Note hand clutching reaction..*
I dun wear speedos, too small for me.

Parents, watch your kids and warn them not to grab the fishes. There are rabbit fishes in there and their dorsal spikes can pierce any grabbing hands. If I am not wrong, they are also posionous. Just go easy, feed the fishes and dun attempt to catch them.

BTW, the fishes eat bread, bananas (including peels), potato chips etc. So I agree with Buds, watch your body parts. I was playing dares with my kids by holding a piece of banana peel with my teeth while submerged. In the feeding frenzy, I got bitten on the lips and some fishes even tried to nibble on my moustache. Luckily, there wasnt any lip infection but it was quite a rush with the fishes swarming around my face. πŸ˜„

It's harder to meet a tsunami than getting hit by a car on the road. When it's time to go, you go. Otherwise, quit worrying and just do it. 😎

Where did u stayed at? I am keen but need to find a family friendly lodging...
Hi hmsg

I stayed at Laguna Holiday Club, as part of timeshare exchange. Very comfortable place but location is a little inconvenient. If you have no budget constraints, I would highly recommend Sheraton. your kids will love the laguna facilities, which are shared among the various resorts within the laguna.

If you are keen on having a free and easy trip, and not rushing around on a packaged tour, I could also recommend a guide cum driver. That way, you can spend more time on activities that your family like.

Some more photos of the laguna area and a picture of kai Island
