Hi Everyone,
I’m a newbie here at KSP and my daughter will be in P1 next year at RGSP. It’s so nice to see such supportive and generous parents here. I have a couple of questions and hope someone can help me out.
1. School Uniforms: Do we have to put full name on the name tags? Is christian name and surname enough? My daughter’s name is quite long.
2. Text and Exercise books:
- How many exercise books do you normally buy?
- Do you buy text books from pacific bookshop or popular?
- Do we need to buy the optional reference books in the booklist? I notice that for some schools, teachers use the books in the optional reference list.
3. Enrichment classes: Is it needed in P1? My daughter has been attending classes so i was thinking i will teach her myself in P1 to give her more time to rest. Is my guidence enough for her to pass her P1 exams?
4. Swimming: Can she be excused if she is taking external lessons?
Sorry about the many questions. Just wanted to make sure i do the right thing.
Many thanks in advance! -
hehe, summer27, don’t worry. School will guide you how many text books and exercise books should be bought, and tell you where and when can purchase those books.
For P1 pupils, there will be no exam.
If you take external lesson, you can be exempt from school CCA. -

called up admin.
kids no need to take any test on coming orientation day, 19 Nov (Sat).
i asked - so, how are the girls grouped & distributed into different class ?
she replied - first sort the girls' names in alphabetical order, next then group the girls into 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Total 9 classes. Each class 30 girls.
so, all the '1' go into class 1, the '2' enter class 2, the '3' enter class 3, etc.
for phonics, all kids would have learnt their phonics well in kindergarten. So the school won't teach phonics in great detail. Parents are advised to ensure their daughter can read, including reading basic, simple instructions, can write own name legibly. -
admin say no black shoes allowed, can only wear white shoes to school.
