Yes, I know. But got WL means got chance to get into the school. So that is still something worth congratulating 😄

ngbrdad:
Thanks. My DS's just a WL, not CO from RI.
Thanks. Just confirm our attendance.

However the timing not very ideal.
Day activity finish at 11.
Then must go back for interview again at 3.

Hi ngbrdad,
Will all candidates get an interview that day or only short-listed ones ???
Maybe NJC need time to discuss who will proceed to the interview round??

Good luck! :xedfingers:

All candidates shortlisted for the day activity will attend the interview as well.
HI Pinky88,
Thanks....a nice long break for your DD to go home and look 'sui sui' for the interview.
Good luck to your DD. :xedfingers:

just an indication of what they do in sec one math : choose your favourite mathematician and his theory and make a presentation on what it is all about, together with all the proofs and power point slides...make sure your class understand you

Sounds similar to what my DS had to do for his GEP AA for Maths this year (he chose Pick's Theorem) but on a much smaller scale though.
My friend DS who is from mainstream and applied under maths domain, but rejected by RI also. I know the boy is a very capable kid who is one of the top students in a SAP school in west area. He got high distinction 2011 UNSW science. won distinction in RI Math, Platinum in SMOPS, Gold (one of top 30th) in NMOS, Gold ACS Math Olympics. Distinction for ABRSM piano Grade 8,school prefect, completed 2-year MOE TTLT program……. Unable to figure out WHY being rejected.

Surprised that this boy was not in GEP.
Did the parents ope not to enrol him in GEP ?
Only one 2 SAP schools in the west and both have GEP right ?

Some were drilled hard for the results. There are always top top mainstreamers not selected for GEP at P3. These are usually the disciplined and hard workers. There were those who always get scolded by tr for not paying attention in class but clear the GEP selection.
Correct. That's why at that time I was surprised and sceptical that my DS this type can still qualify for GEP. The top girl (still topping cohort now) did not make the selection. Don't understand why.

because he is only at the top of his cohort, he could enter RI using his t-score

what RI is looking for at DSA is candidates with talent beyond their peers....

just an indication of what they do in sec one math : choose your favourite mathematician and his theory and make a presentation on what it is all about, together with all the proofs and power point slides...make sure your class understand you

in p6 gep..the kids have to do a Maths Alternative Assessment which they have to choose one of the given topics (theory) and do a 'writeout' and explanation on it..but no need to do slide presentation...but should be a simplier form la as compare to what vk2010 has mentioned...
so sound familiar.. 😉

GEPers is doing advance. No wonder one of the RI boy (non GEPer) nwas complaining about his younger brother (who is a GEPer) having easier life than him during Sec 1. His younger brother \"shaking\" leg while he has hard time adapting to the new environment.

Btw vlim, does this Assessement constitute part of P6 SA1 result?
Hi,

During the DSA interview, the school B's interviewer asked my DS :
'If you receive CO from both school A and School B, What is your 1st choice ?'.
He has replied honestly: 'school A'.
Will there be a negative impacts his answers ?

Thankyou

huh...not very good le... :scared:

Not Very Diplomatic Ans ....
As for Impact, 🤷 Maybe U let us Know ....
upon receiving letter from sch B ....
Thanks for all the feedbacks.
We have aniticipated this question and told DS not to provide direct answers for it. But, he had chosen to speak up his mind.
Just hope that the interviewers will appreciate his honesty from another perspective and do not reject his application just beacuse of this answer.

Ya lor…my DD’s is 230. Guess they want to do the interview after their lunch break. So what do we do…sit there & admire NJC…hee. Guess we will head home first then return again.
I think they want us to bring the kids home to freshen up if possible then return again.
My boy took the Hast in Casual clothes but maybe school uniform may be more appropriate for interview.
However considering the conditions of my boy’s uniform maybe not a bad idea to go in casual.

PS. Reading thru the printout of the email, the attire was stated as P.E. attire lol.
DS was allocated interview time at 12.45pm and has to report at 12.30pm. Will not have time to go home to freshen up. So no choice, have to bring uniform for him to change to. Hope he doesn’t get too sweaty during the activity.
