My friends who were studying in these 2 schools in secondary tell me that the majority of students were not from the primary school. So that really says something. Being in elite schools like Cat High and St Nicks primary is not a guarantee of success. Whereas all these students from neighbourhood schools are making it into Cat High and St Nicks secondary based on merit.
Huh? The majority of students don't make it back to St Nicks and that really says something??? I think you may be making an erroneous conclusion here. :scared: :yikes:
I shall presume that your friends are around mummy age; were they in St Nicks in the 80s? They are right that the majority of students in their secondary days were not from the primary school. But that is because there were only about 4 primary school classes in the old days!!!!!! At secondary level there were 10 or more classes in my recollection. OF COURSE the majority of the students were from other primary schools!!
Edit: I just took a look at my yearbook. There were 12 secondary classes by the time i graduated, but there certainly weren't 12 primary classes in my primary days! -

Query: Should I let my DD going to P1 next year sleep on her own?
Currently my 2 girls, 5 and 6 year old, sleep on bunk beds in the same room. Come 2012, DD1 will be going to P1 and in the morning session, while DD2 will be in K2. DD2 wakes up at 7am while I think DD1 will have to be up before that. She sleeps on the upper bunk.
Been wondering if I should let DD1 have her own room so I can give her a study desk and also so she does not disturb DD2 in the mornings (though I prefer for them to be share room as I need the other room for ironing, etc.
Any advice from anyone? -
