Hang in there, Janet!! Don't let the stress get to you.

Next week is DD's exams. I bet her peers are all studying hard.
As for us, we're going to the night safari on Friday!

When the going gets tough, the tough relaxes and become stronger!!

Yup! Yup! Son stopped studying last week. We will pick up intense studying again on the day after exams.

Yes, Chenonceau!! Learnt from you too!

Was contemplating the night safari trip, and what \"sealed\" it for me was when DD came back and told me how the teacher added more pressure by once again setting high targets.

Already the paper bound to be super tough... yet she requires them to all exceed 80%. The cheek!!! Considering she hardly teaches!! :stompfeet:

The marks are not counted... so should we turn the tables and give her the heart attack instead? :siam:

Son doesn't have CA2...but I'm making him revise for CL 5A as well as Science. Can't possibly start next month. I'm feeling mentally tired...so just asked him to do a chapter on Science. With both of them at home today, I've gone nuts :stompfeet:

              Janet,
Take care. My ds will be having CA next week and since he has not done much extra work outside of school work since term started, I hope to cram in some practices these few days. Unfortunately, the homework teacher assigned for these 2 days of home based learning are quite a lot and son is still cranking up his engine so progress is slow. :xedfingers: can get some revision done before CA 2.

Jia you to all who has CA2.

Same for us. DS was assigned with a tonne (literally!) of homework for this long break. He said it is better to go to school :frustrated: Well, not very much time left to do revision, I think. Sigh!

Hi to all parents who are preparing for the coming CA2.

Indeed we have to give them alot of TLC and motivation to keep their spirits up. See their overworked and tired faces after school every day. Hardly left any time nor energy to do any assessment. given so much homework here and there from school. Pressure cooked liao! As Parents, trying very hard to keep our sanity too....
Good wishes to all, God Bless 😄

Several schools have CA2 but I'm fortunate to escape this...can't imagine the stress of having CA2 as my daughter in P1 has tests this month...everything lah from oral to written. Have to go easy as I need to reserve my energy for son's SA2.
God bless all the mummies preparing kids for CA2.

Janet, sorry to ask u this on a P5 thread… but didn’t MOE remove exams in P1 to prevent stress? And it is replaced by more tests = more stress?

Just like how "teach less, learn more" is = school teach less (least), students must now learn (most and not just more) from tuition/enrichment/parents?

If they made exams easier at PSLE, schools would not feel the need to set hard exams in P5 and P6… and test kids in P1 and P2. But then, they would not know whatta do with all those people who score full marks. What’s wrong with having lots who score full marks? If we think a bit, we’ll find ways to manage these. Why do we need a system that is so finely calibrated that it can distinguish at PSLE in the finest detail the good, better and best?
